A separate forum for oldbies wouldn't be that hard to do.

I mean all you have to do is give certain posters access no?

And how hard is it. Just pm a moderator and ask to be put in there. He or she will look at your screen name and give the okay.

When someone posts like 87 images, does the next person have to quote all 87 images just to post something like "Agreed" or " " ?

Is there a way to make it so images can't be quoted?

Maybe do it so that when the image is quoted it shows as a thumbnail, much smaller than the original size so you're not scrolling down for an hour past the same 3 huge images.

Well he was mostly talking about people who quote the 900 images IMMEDIATELY with a simple "Nice!" or "". I've seen threads where someone will post a bunch of new images, and the next three pages will be those same images getting quoted over and over with simple one-word responses.

I believe what Hunter meant was the new system will make post counts less significant in the attempt to gain bigger avatars. I doubt very much we'll elimate post counts.

why not simply have a secret forum where older members can cut loose unchecked and kick it old school



it won't need moderation, and won't spoil the image of the hype. It was probably the best hype idea that was never fully carried out before.

it'd just be a superlounge for anyone past the five year mark who remembers the regime of old...

I back this idea.

How about a Reputation Meter? We can vote up or down Posters that have good posts, or bad posts? We can have a number next to our SN that range from 0 to 100, and you start at 50. Over time, you can see if people general like the your posts, and if not, you can fix it by writing posts with Substance to get a Higher "Rep".

That's true, but that would only be a one off instance. Limit it to one "Rep Vote" per day, so no one can abuse it. It'll balance out with the postivite Rep Votes.

Cracked had an article about Preventing Trolling a couple of days ago. This was one of their posts. People general like to be liked, and if you seen your Rep Points start to decline, you will moderate your posts yourself, and the quality Coversations will Generally come up.

And I really like this idea. I was thinking of something similar but was too busy ranting and raving over sensitivity issues I guess.

The different colored names would be cool... but I'm colorblind so I don't really care.
