I think the mod forum should be made public. Not to where other people can post in it, but specifically so we can just see how the mods work the board and how decisions are made. It would be an interesting learning experience, and would drop some of the cloak and dagger complaints that people have.

While it may solve some problems, it would certainly create others.

What's a shocker? That I agree with Bamf? The Washroom is the only place that the staff has to discuss situations openly among ourselves. You just want to declare war on our PM boxes don't you? That's the truth of the matter, isn't it?

I assume it's a question of too many users, too many threads, and too many posts at one time for the servers to handle.

It's a few things, but it's hard to pinpoint them, since sometimes, you don't know if it's a symptom or a cause. I mean, hell, SomethingAwful still has threads from MANY years ago. I think we're only backed up to what, 2006 or so, with the exception of some active threads from then. I could go really technical to you, but the short answer is I think it's partially the servers, and perhaps some delayed MYSQL stuff. So far, everything we've done to try to fix it all has only been a stall at best, up to and including deleting low-post, inactive users and threads.
