Confession is good for the Hype. - - Part 11

I confess that sometimes I don't even feel like a real artist. There are so many other people out there who may not even have a lot of talent, but still work so much harder and are much more dedicated with what they do and I just wish that I could have that same dedication and motivation.
Have you considered that maybe that kind of art isn't what you're meant to do?

I'm a VERY good illustrator, if I put my mind to it. I just don't feel like doing it....ever. :funny: I find I get a lot more excited about user experience design. It's still kind of art, but not just putting pen to paper that I find tedious. I'll be making something interactive, that people will use, instead of making something that just looks pretty.

Once I get my foot in the door, user experience design also pays a lot more than being a regular illustrator. :oldrazz:

But yeah, from what I've seen, professional artists put in the hours. I follow a concept artist that I took a class from, and he draws a complete illustration every morning, before he even does his paying work. I have a friend from college who was a so-so artist, but he worked really hard after graduation, never stopped practicing and never gave up, and now he's an inker for Aspen Comics.

I'm still "friends" with a lot of people from my high school on Facebook and I remember hearing that Facebook really ruined high school reunions because now you can keep up with certain changes from people. Like I recently went to a 5 year reunion thing and for the most part, everyone looked the same. Some people definitely got fatter and had beer bellies, while other people, like girls, finally learned how to use make-up and looked attractive. But the real test will be in another 5 years when people actually start having their own lives and families. That's when the biggest changes happen.
I just had my 10-year, and people still haven't changed much. :funny: We're a highly educated bunch though, so we probably won't start having families until our mid-30s.

I'm incredibly annoyed by the preachers currently singing to my sick grandmother in the next room. Pretty sure I'm going to hell.

I confess watching Die Hard for the first time
It's not so awesome

Some movies are often backed by nostalgia and being "one of the first" and being good at the time. But don't hold up that well if you just saw it for the first time today. I sorta felt that way about the donner superman films a little.

:funny:
Seconded.
:lmao:

First time isn't the charm, it seems

It might improve on later views. Certain popular movies appear pretty dull on first view, more entertaining later imo

I saw Die Hard for the first time just last year.

It was ****ing awesome.

it really depends on the flick. Superman has "charm", but Star Trek Wrath of Khan was just silly to me. Not nearly as "good" as some make it out to be. That also in mind, about 10 years ago i saw the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the first time.. and it actually made me laugh several times... from the man in the wheel chair, to the girl running up stairs and straight out a window... to the old man who kept dropping the mallet..

some things just don't hold up

As scenes go by, Die Hard gets better
I might actually give it a fair score based on this view alone, which I didn't expect to happen

Those old slasher/horror films in general are unintentionally funny
From the Trek movies I saw, Wrath of Khan isn't one of them, might give it a shot and see if ti will give me enough laughs

You just keep saying things that aren't cool. You're headed to the cooler if you keep it up.

I got my family into Game of Thrones a year ago just so I could watch their reaction to last night's episode.

My dysthymia is getting worse. Last night after bowling with some friends, the second I got into my car to drive back home, depressing thoughts hit me like a freight train. It was surreal.

You can freeze my @$# right here and now, or you can see I rate it a 10/10 after watching the whole thing
When I said that thing you quoted I was 40 minutes in

Who rates a movie 40 minutes in?

That's like rating dinner by just the appetizer?

No one rated a movie 40 minutes in bruv
All I said I didn't think it was that awesome at the moment

Actually your post didn't specify so it did seem like you did watch the whole thing.

Two of my posts later say I was still watching, or at least should give a nod to it

And how much are you really watching if you're posting during it?

If I was dating someone and they started texting during watching Star Wars for the first time, I'd slap that phone right out of their hands.

I watched Wrath and Die Hard recently (well the first two Die Hard movies I aw about a year ago I think.) and I enjoyed them.

I am really attracted to my black female classmate from Chicago. We just click so well. I think we talk so much because we are curious about what it is like to be from such different places (myself being a white guy from the far suburbs). Too bad she has a serious boyfriend. :csad:
