I confess that when a customer was yelling at me over the phone, I set the receiver on the counter while I went about my business. Sometimes I would pick the phone back up to mutter a vague apology, and then I would set the phone back down.
I should say that I'm sorry I did it, and that I hope that he didn't say anything important, but I have to confess that at this point, I don't give a damn.
