Contest Of Marvels II Discussion Thread

I'd love to have Pulse here, but adding on to Wiegeabo's questions, what's his limit? Does he have any enhanced abilities? Since we're getting rid of an extra person, I'll put in Fu Manchu.

Let's not limit ourselves to getting rid of a specific number of potentials. If there are twenty potentials that wouldn't be good for the tourney, then we should drop them and look for better replacements if possible. So why don't we just clean out all the characters we don't think will be good, if any, and add new characters as needed.

That being said, I haven't had time to go through the list like I want, but I'll try and bring up as many questions about characters as I can.

I reread the Blood of Apocalypse storyline and it doesn't mention anything about being limited to only mutants, so I would assume it's open.

And I agree that we should go through the list and get rid of as many as we don't want. It might take some time, but do you think it would be best to go about it the same way we did the original list? List a few and then debate those and then move on? That way we can provide links to the characters and make it easier for, uh, the three of us, to decide. If you guys don't want to go through all that then I suppose we could just go through them like normal, just look it up ourselves.

Hey guys. I'm still alive. I pop in every once in a while, but work has been a bit busier, and during the summer, I'm always watching the live feeds of Big Brother. But, I'm available.

My wife was talking about wanting to do that, but just never gets around to figuring out how. I only just starting watching the show. Howie's cool

Just got back from Miami Vice. Avoid this movie at all costs. It has very, very little action, is very confusing, and is just plain dull. Go see Monster House for a much better time. It may actually be the best movie I've seen all summer.

I know. M Knight Shammalammadingdong really needs to start paying attention to the movies he makes. :o :(

I only enjoyed The Sixth Sense. Since then, everything he's put out has been half-a****.

I sorta agree. I liked Sense, and Signs was decent. I didn't like Unbreakable and I don't even want to mention the other one. :o

The Village? I was smart enough to dodge that one, and then make fun of my fellow interns for watching it.

I saw it in the theatre. To this day I still want those two hours back. :o :(

Poor thing. You're the one in need of a sixth sense. :o

I wanted to give Shamalong one more shot. Sadly that shot killed me into not going to see the Weird Chick in the Motel Pool. I'll probably rent it though when it comes out on DVD.

The trailers didn't seem very appealing either. Seriously, a suspense movie about a mermaid? :o I've written better stories in the RPGs.

Nah, nothing to do with a mermaid. It's a fairytale put on film in a suspensful nature. It's good, and I liked Village and Unbreakable too. Eh, I guess I'm just easy to please... or I just like the opposite of everyone else. I also liked Sins Past, Draco, Spiderman the Other, Disassembled, House of M, etc. Yet, I thought Watchmen, Infinite Crisis, and most things Thor were a complete waste of my time.

IC was of your time? :(

*does the bump boogie*

You better not let Corp hear that Thor comment, JH. He tends to Hulk out if somebody talks ill of the Odinson. :D

Yeah, he hulked out on AS once and I couldn't help but to laugh about it. I kept my mouth shut since then :)

Well, I did see Lady In The Water, and knew what to expect, I think. It wasn't going to be a normal M. Knight film, as there would be no twists or anything like in his previous movies. But, I enjoyed it for what it was. For me, Unbreakable was his best movie. I didn't feel that way the first time I watched it, but upon re-watching it when it came out on DVD, I was able to really appreciate the performances and writing.

Clerks 2 was alright. I was no Clerks...it was a bit too chick friendly, some scenes really weren't as funny as Kevin Smith probably thought they were....but, both movies are stellar compared to Miami Vice. That was a damn waste of time.

Still thinking, best movie of the summer is Monster House.

I thought I should give out my email addy. It's [email protected]. If there is any activity in this thread that warrants a look by me, please email me. Sometimes I don't see the new stuff, as I don't check in a bunch of times, like I normally would when Big Brother isn't on. Right now, my boy and I have been playing three new 360 games I bought: Burnout: Revenge, Fight Night 3, and King Kong. It's pretty bad when a video game goes down to 39.99, and you think it's a good deal. I'm figuring the new games for the Wi and PS3 are probably going to be high priced to when those systems come out.

Nintendo is trying to convince retailers to keep Wii games at 49.99 (or less). And I can't wait to try out the Wii. Want a DS Lite too.

What I hate most is that you can get the same game for other systems for a much cheaper price, and yet because you want to play it on the new system, you have to pay 10-20 dollars more. Heck, sometimes there isn't even any difference whether you play the old x-box version or the new. I'm still waiting for Godfather to come out on the 360. With the big delay, there better be a large improvement on it.
