The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Dane Dehaan IS Harry Osborn

I dug how Franco played him in Raimi's, kind of the big man on campus who slowly devolves into this obsessive madman over the franchise, but I felt he was kind of too pretty for Harry at the same time.

After watching Dane in The Place Beyond the Pines last night I am even more psyched to see the intensity this kid is going to bring as Harry, I've always said he's the perfect person for the role all along.

Exactly. He was great in "...Beyond the Pines" (as was that whole film). But even though I haven't seen Chronicle I knew enough about his role in it and had seen what he'd looked like and based on that info alone I've been imagining him as Harry since before it was announced, making the announcement a really awesome and sort of surreal surprise. He's gonna nail this character. Just watch.

Not to mention the first film Dane was ever in was John Sayle's "Amigo" alongside Chris Cooper, meaning the two have pre-existing chemistry. In some interviews I've read they really seem to respect and like each other. Their father/son dynamic is one of my most anticipated parts of TASM2.

Everyone keeps saying he looks strung out on drugs but to me it looks like he's actually playing an important role at the company. He's getting in the company van and it looks like he takes care of some business for the company at Ravencroft as well. He's dressed nuce as well. With Norman out I think Harry has actually taken on a lot of responsibility at the company when the film starts.

So does Harry become the Goblin or is it still Norman - not up on my Ultimate Spidey which seems to be the template for this series.

Or maybe they'll save the reveal for who is the Goblin for part three...

Visually, I think Dehaan has very striking blue eyes that stand out on screen. That was something I noticed when I saw him in Lincoln. Gives him edginess I suppose.

Dehaan is a great choice for the role. I always prefered the scrawny geeky Harry over the jock-like Harry from Raimi's movies
