I think Maleficent looks uninteresting but I will always root for female led films at the box office. Especially when they are in the sci fi and fantasy genre. And I cannot wait for the first decently reviewed female led hit superhero film.

Nice to see X-Men getting a friggin half way decent drop for once, here is hoping it somehow finds it's way to 225-230mil. I'm thinking 221ishmil right now. I'm sure it will have a decent drop next weekend, hopefully it holds up after that.

I predicted 670ww but I forgot about the World Cup and probably overinflated foreign numbers because of it but I hope that sticks and is right for this weekend.

If the movie beats X3s domestic haul, I'll be happy as it will be thee biggest xmen movie domestically, foreign and worldwide

Also it has a shot at being the biggest WW and foreign box office movie of the first half of 2014 and second biggest domestic.

Looking at boxofficemojo, X3 is running a little over $10 million ahead of DOFP (on their 24th day). I noticed from here on, X3's weekday grosses fell below $1 million so I'm hoping DOFP can hold up better and start closing that gap. $235 million isn't a sure thing, but it's not impossible.

I hope that rumor about WW solo movie will come true. I like the movies made by Marvel Studios but one of the criticisms I do have is that so far they have not given us a female-led superhero movie, despite the fact that they could've made BW and even Ms. Marvel. I hope successes like Maleficient will convince MS to greenlight one of these movies, hopefully in Phase 3.

It will be a 53-55% drop from last week ($420.1m-$338m=$82.1m), this week is ($457.6m-$420.1m=$37.5m). Not thaaat bad considering China like dropped 70%. Before this I was wondering if it will even get to 450M.

Good to see this movie reach $200 and it has beat Thor: The Dark World World-Wide and it looks like it will beat it domestically as well. Now it has a good chance of beating X2 as well.

Next weekend's OS drop shouldn't be that much too. There's nothing much left in China to drop from, and there's Venezuela opening on Friday.

It's only 10 million away from catching up to Last Stand's domestic take. The big reason why Last Stand has that 10 million lead is the opening Friday where DoFP made 10 million less than Last Stand did. That is undoubtedly due to Last Stand and Origins' negative affect on the franchise. I hope this film can catch up to Last Stand and finally do what the story did, which is to wipe Last Stand from the history books for once and for all!!!
