Days of Future Past 'Days Of Future Past' BOX-OFFICE worldwide prediction - Part 4

The per theater average is extremely low, so that may cause it to lose a big bunch of the expanded theaters this weekend. Let's hope it doesn't lose that much.

Didn't one of the instagram posts of the Official X-men Movies account hint that this would be the last weekend? I may be wrong though.

Titanic is one of my favorite movies ever!

And I was kinda upset when Avatar outgrossed it but I got over it quickly.

The thing is TASM2/Godzilla/Cap2 are already done with their theater run and when I saw that DOFP's is only less than 1 million away from outgrossing X3, I kinda had a panic attack! :csad: Because I think DOFP will finish its theater run very soon!

The answer is no. No to both. :o

I wasn't questioning you so I don't get your reaction.

Yeah I just saw that.

Yeah I just saw that.

My initial point was just agreeing that just because another movie makes more money than DOFP, doesn't necessarily make it better.

If that were true Titanic would be considered one of the best movies ever and it's clearly, clearly, clearly, clearly, clearly not.

Clearly.

I think I saw that as well. The theater near my office is just doing one show a day starting tomorrow.

Clearly.
Probably not the best example though. Your talking about a film that tied Ben Hur for most Oscars ever won including... Best Picture. That film has all the bases covered to be considered one of the greats.

Don't care. :o

In my opinion, LA Confidential should have won that year. Much better movie.

Likewise

But the best movies are not only decided by only you or me. Looking at a film like Titanic outside of our own personal tastes it's pretty easy to see it's extremely well regarded.

We all have different favorites. There's no right answer.

Well Oscars don't always go to the best movies, sometimes the more "popular" movie.

17 15 X-Men: Days of Future Past Fox 312 -482 -60.7% 16

-60% theaters, passing X3 looks grim at this point, especially with the extremely poor PTA.

It's all subjective. Oscars, box office, reviews. Depends on the viewer. Titanic is widely well received and loved as a classic now. Using Transformers, Phantom Menace, Pirates and Alice in Wonderland would have been better examples of films that rank in serious cash but far from the publics view of "best" films of all time.

I agree with your overall point.

yes, it will end up around 600 thousand short, lol

Thanks to the second week drop that killed it.

However, it is still the number ONE Xmen film WW ever.

Well it looks like it'll be playing at least until next Thursday. Interesting to see where it'll be after this weekend.

Today it should've passed $233.5 million.

It's tough to stomach the idea that it'll come so close (around 600k). Fox figure out a way to rerelease it on IMAX for a short time.

Don't care. :o

I don't disagree, but at least I can see the logic in going with Titanic. Shakespeare in Love besting Saving Private Ryan though still befuddles me to this day.

Boxoffice.com is forecasting a $150,000 weekend, which will take the domestic total to $233,656,334 coming in just under $700,000 short of the Last Stand's total ($334,362,462). Essentially we need about 4-5 more weeks of these kind of numbers for the goal to be reached. Can it happen?

Well, by the end if this week, it should be around $233.7 million. After next weekend, maybe a little past $233.8 million. I'm now starting to think it won't pass X3

Snikt, you're the guy that gave me hope when hope was is short supply. You can't give up!?!

I dont know man. Personally i want to believe that topping X-TLS total is fappening...

(oops a typo sorry for that)

New total: $233.7 million.

Anyone how it's determined how long a movie will be in theaters? Pretty sure after this weekend, it'll be up to $233.8 million. So it may have a slight chance. Just depends much time it has left.
