How am I mocking people? I'm telling people to get a grip and be rational. And yes it really does bother me that these people are still mourning someone that they didn't know. If they were really concerned about a strangers welfare, wouldn't they mourn more than just an actor who played they Joker? Wouldn't they mourn complete strangers who were victims of fatal car accidents, or victims of murder ect ect? No, they mourn an actor because it's a fashionable thing to do. Every generation wants a martyr so people can draw annention to themselves and mourn and people are trying to make Heath Ledger this.
Again, I tell everyone to get a grip. He's dead. The world goes on.
Just out of curiosity, were you even remotely upset when hearing of heath's death, or did you just have no care for it? Again not bashing you, just wanted to know. And after seeing Heath's performance as the joker, were you even remotely upset that you wouldn't see him again on screen, as the joker or anyone else? I'm not asking if you were reduced to tears, I'm just asking if you felt at least some sort of emotional response to the whole thing. I just want to get a feel of the kind of guy you are.How am I mocking people? I'm telling people to get a grip and be rational. Was it insensitive when Nicholson was laughing after receiving the news of Ledgers death? Was it insensitive when the WBBC was protesting Heath's funeral simply because he played a gay character? We have barely touched on insensitive my friend. We are merely saddened because he gave such a great performance and this is the only time we will see a Joker of this magnitude. Sure others will come and go,but imo and im sure in the opinions of others everywhere, Heath's portrayal is always gonna be the top of the bar. Sure there are the people that just care about the film and just wish he was alive to do more. Then there are people like me, people who actually care, who feel saddened not just for the loss of a great Joker, but a great man, actor, and a father. I feel horrible for that little girl, not being able to know what a great guy her father was. And it is truly depressing to know that he died so young and left so much behind. But to call us insensitive because we loved his work so much, while there are others here being selfish, and making a mockery of his name, is truly in every sense of the word INSENSITIVE. I KID YOU NOT
Ya, I had a weird feeling when Ledger passed away. I had not met the man, just was familiar with his work. Though when I was following the movie I guess I grew to know him more and more. So when he died I did feel like I lost a friend. It was a bizarre sensation that I don't quite understand but now I understand why people were sad when Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, Elvis, James Dean, and every other famous person out there. Emotions are like opinions, just because you feel something different doesn't mean another person should feel the same as you.
Just thought these were some great posts, that I felt needed to be braught up again.Actually Donk, If you died and Heath had someway of knowing, I think he would of cared. Judging from people on set and from Heath's friends, he was always a nice guy and was nice to people he never even met before.
I was watching the E true hollywood story on him, and I forgot which actor it was but he was trying to go up to Heath and talk to him but got so nervous he couldnt do it. So he went and sat down, a little later Heath comes up to him and introduces himself and starts talking to the guy. How many actors would actually do something like that? (The guy wasn't even one of the big roles in the movie)
I think how some people see it as, it is really sad that he is gone. He had so much potential and his life was cut short. He had a daughter who will never get to know his father. Just that little much will make people care/ miss someone A LOT. Peoples feelings go beyond that little I said but I am just trying to make a point.
I know when I saw the last 10 minutes of the E! true hollywood story, I got a little choked up. YES, I have never met the guy, but he was an amazing person and a good role model. When people like that die, people will care and feel strongly about them.
This is just my OPINION in a nutshell. I know this is a little off topic but I was just trying to state my opinion.
But to the body bad scene, It didnt freak me out of upset me or anything, to me that was the Joker the first time around. The second time , I immediately thought what everyone else did though, about Heath.

Matt: I think it's clear that most people admire Heath for more than his portrayal of the Joker. But that does not mean we can't also mourn the death of his interpretations as we know them.
I was shocked, but that was it. I didn't know the guy so his death had no effect on me.
I didn't know him
He didn't know me
Why should I feel bad when I see him in a body bag? He wouldnt feel bad for me if I died.
Seriously, folks need to get a grip

And here is where you blur the lines between reality and fantasy. How do you know he was a great man? Have you met him? Of course not. Why doesn't one batfan have the balls to just tell the truth and say "I'm upset cause he played the Joker?"
Likewise. What really shocked me is the response of some of the people, claiming they couldn't go to school or work the next day or had been crying for hours. I know a lot of the posters here are kids and if Heath Ledger's death, a man they never met who they only gave a damn about because he was the Joker, effects them so much, I can only imagine how they will take it when someone they actually know or care about dies.
Its interesting to see people dictate how others should feel.
It's interesting how people cry for 7 months over someone that they didn't knowIts interesting to see people dictate how others should feel.
Ok I saw the movie and when the hell was this body bag scene? Was it after the credits or somethibng cuz I paid attention and did not see any joker in a body bag scene
I don't know if he died or not, but it's completely irrelevant to the film.hmmm I don't really remember that, but on monday I'm seeing it again (lol).
I just find it hard to believe that just cutting a smile would kill the guy. =/
Its when some of the Joker's thugs take his "dead" body to Gambol.
