The Dark Knight Did anyone feel a stinking feeling in their stomach when the joker..

Ya, I had a weird feeling when Ledger passed away. I had not met the man, just was familiar with his work. Though when I was following the movie I guess I grew to know him more and more. So when he died I did feel like I lost a friend. It was a bizarre sensation that I don't quite understand but now I understand why people were sad when Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, Elvis, James Dean, and every other famous person out there. Emotions are like opinions, just because you feel something different doesn't mean another person should feel the same as you.

Exactly. That's all I was trying to say in my first post. Personally this scene didn't affect me at all, but nobody has a right to come here and tell anyone how they should or shouldn't feel, or to criticize them for feeling a certain way.

:)

lets all get along.

It still boggles my brain seeing people sad over someone they don't know with a bunch of people they also don't know. I'm not trying to question their feelings just how they approach them is beyond me.

That's all for me on that subject.

If this is what helps you cope, by all means please continue.

A waste of time in my opinion. I'll just go see The Dark Knight again.

Ya, I can totally understand why its weird to people. I guess you have to really experience it to understand.

yea I didnt really make this connection until the 3rd time i saw it, but it made me really sad. i got a sick feeling in my stomach when he pulled the bag back to reveal his face, reminded me of the news converage that night..

watch out you might get attacked for having feelings for someone who died that you never met.

;)

I didn't feel a sinking feeling in my stomach honestly. Obviously we knew it was coming. However there were these two girls in the theater who jumped
as soon as he got up.

I felt kind of "pit-stomach filling" at the final Joker speech with Bats, cause I knew he would not be back...besides being a great tie between two historic characters probably also did it. It was such a great line.

LoL, When the Joker popped out of the bodybag I was like (pencil trick still in my mind), "Man(!) this guy is so psychotic!"

:hoboj: - Ahahahaha!

Nope. It was just the Joker and nothing else in that scene. The one moment that pulled me out was "We could do this for eternity," that is when I realized this was it with the Joker in Nolan's movies and it was a sad realization with what should have been a creepily cool one. Alas.

It's a waste of time to be sad over anyone who dies, since being sad won't bring them back. In fact, feelings themselves are rather illogical and pointless. Best just to do without them.

From one scientist to another..... :cwink:

I guess opinions are illogical and pointless too, right?

I really had no idea what you were talking about until about the 8th post in. I get it he's dead and they depict him as dead. Wow thanks I really didn't feel bad until just now. But the end speech was way more touching because they can't "do this forever" V_V

It didn't bother me because I didn't see Heath on -screen, I just saw The Joker. I think that's the best compliment you can give an actor. RIP Heath.

And to donk70-
Where in the hell do you get off telling us that we need to "get a grip" because we are still mourning Heath Ledger's death? Just because you don't give a damn doesn't mean that we shouldn't. You don't have to meet a man face-to-face to feel like you know him. Actors put a little piece of themselves into every role they take on, and when we see their movies we see a part of them. Those of us who have followed Heath's career and have seen his films, even if we didn't have a clue who he was until he was cast as The Joker, we feel like we know him. If you're too shallow to understand that then you're the one that needs to "get a grip."

If you can't get over the death of an actor whom you never met, then I pity you.

Ask yourself this: Is your life any different with or without him being alive? And don't give me that "yah, cuz I wont be able to see his movies anymore".

I mean seriously, does his death really have a negative impact on your life, such as a parent, sibling, or grandparent dying?

I didn't think so

The only thing The Joker did that hit me at the heart was when he said, "You and I are destined to do this forever." The body bag scene didn't bother me in the slightest.

Actually Donk, If you died and Heath had someway of knowing, I think he would of cared. Judging from people on set and from Heath's friends, he was always a nice guy and was nice to people he never even met before.

I was watching the E true hollywood story on him, and I forgot which actor it was but he was trying to go up to Heath and talk to him but got so nervous he couldnt do it. So he went and sat down, a little later Heath comes up to him and introduces himself and starts talking to the guy. How many actors would actually do something like that? (The guy wasn't even one of the big roles in the movie)

I think how some people see it as, it is really sad that he is gone. He had so much potential and his life was cut short. He had a daughter who will never get to know his father. Just that little much will make people care/ miss someone A LOT. Peoples feelings go beyond that little I said but I am just trying to make a point.

I know when I saw the last 10 minutes of the E! true hollywood story, I got a little choked up. YES, I have never met the guy, but he was an amazing person and a good role model. When people like that die, people will care and feel strongly about them.

This is just my OPINION in a nutshell. I know this is a little off topic but I was just trying to state my opinion.

But to the body bad scene, It didnt freak me out of upset me or anything, to me that was the Joker the first time around. The second time , I immediately thought what everyone else did though, about Heath. :csad:

Well, I'm sure everyone who had heard about it, this obviously was the scene that didn't test well and had WB considering cutting it out of the film. Now having seen the movie twice and today will be my third, my answer is no. It was an AWESOME scene and I'm REALLY glad they didn't. I was engrossed in the film, it took the second time for me to realize that this might bother people.

didn't bother me, though like others in here "we are destined to do this forever" made me sad

The "Body bag" scene really didn't bother me alot nor did the Joker's line mentioned above bother me because I saw the Joker n those scenes, which is a testament to Heath's acting legacy that he could melt so completely into the character.

Actually Donk, If you died and Heath had someway of knowing, I think he would of cared.

Speculation only.

If he cared that I died without knowing me, then he would be as pathetic as these people still morning him 7 months later.

You guys are acting like he was some white knight in armor, but you're forgetting he was just a person.

The world goes on.

There are definitely some "chris crocker-esque" Heath fans on these boards and it's terrifying.

Here's an example,

It's mind bottling and terrifying!

He's an actor. He passed away. He didn't know you, you don't know the people on these boards, so how does one get a false sense of closure (7months later) still talking about it on here?

What does joker do to the two guys on either side of him on the pool table, does he stab them? It was cut too quickly, i wish they just made it R all i wanted was just a few seconds more to see exactly what was happening, the pencil scene was perfect tho.

"We are destined to do this forever." shouldn't be sad/weird at all. It's awesome.

Bob Kane is dead.
Bill Finger is dead.
Cesar Romero is dead.
Adam West will die
So will Bruce Timm, Frank Miller, Michael Keaton, Mark Hammil, etc.

But the BATMAN and the JOKER are destined to go at it forever.
It has nothing to do with Heath Ledger.
Batman...Joker...transcend human mortality.

Like I said in another thread this was actually my favorite scene in the film....and just showed how truly evil The Joker is. There is no way Nolan could cut that scene...it's far too good. It was the only scene that really sent chills down my spine.
