Several different venues for this one:
He's definitely an AU character or an earth-1 character who changed through the Flash's many flashpoints to become an expert in the multiverse. He could be Thawne's underling. Obviously, he was also at one point someone Oliver was familiar with.

Why would she consider him any real threat when she can just obliterate him in an instant?

Promotheus, as has been shown on this season, plays mind games, so even she attempted to kill him, he'd find a way to come out on top.

How did she escape without Barry and co realizing it?

Running gag. Also, for the same reason either of these two heroes need anything more than a sidekick, let alone Barry's case, anything at all.

Oliver, who is as good a hero as anyone in this Arrow universe, has not being able to get to Prometheus or stop him. Why should a villain of the week, or at best, a recurring villain, be able to?

Is Prometheus a metahuman? Because if not, the answer to your question is: because it makes perfect sense.

One of my issues with Slade near the end of Season 2 was that he got a bit too "villain-sue" ish. Like he could be anywhere, do anything, get to anyone, or know anything that the plot needed him to at the time (regardless of if it really made sense or not). And there was little to no explanation for it a lot of the time.

I hope that Prometheus doesn't end up the same way.

Is Prometheus a metahuman? Because if not, the answer to your question is: because it makes perfect sense.

Prometheus so far has been shown to be very cunning, meticulous, perceptive and devious. This is a man who laid out bodies in the exact position on the floor, with the bodies laid down in the exact same manner, to an event that occurred four years prior. He is relentless in his quest to destroy Oliver and everything that he has achieved. Based on what we have seen so far, there is little to suggest that he would simply walk up to an opponent that he would be no match for and expect them to do as he wishes. He knows how to work people. I am sure he can find someway to make someone like BS do as he wished, without having to engage in physical combat with her.

He is a superior villain to BS due his studiousness and intelligence, among other reasons, and not his physical abilities. If she has a weak-point, or something that will motivate her to work for him, someone like Prometheus should know it, unless the writers decide to stop being consistent with him, which is not out of the question with them. Whether the writers have him do something manipulative and cunning to achieve his goal through BS, or simply have her work for him because of some stupid reason is yet to be seen. But there are definitely ways that someone like Prometheus could get someone like BS to work for him.

You think BS doesn't have any goals of her own that Prometheus could perhaps help her achieve? You think if Prometheus wanted to kill or seriously hurt her, he would walk up to her face, when he has been shown to be very adept at sneaking up on people?

I just need a good reason why she would work with him and how he broke her out.

In the Arrowverse, it is possible for there to be weapons that he could use to hurt a metahuman. If all that we hear is that he threatens her, then I would agree that is not good enough. With these writers, it wouldn't surprise me if that is all they say, despite their being plenty of ways in a comic-book world for people to overcome the odds and hurt metahumans.

It doesn't have to be then. He has broken into Lances places before while he was asleep. I agree with what you saying in the spoiler. It would not be good enough, but it wouldn't surprise me with the writers if that was all they gave.

This season has had many throwbacks to season 1. Prometheus breaking into the pipeline to threaten Black Siren will be an unintentional throwback to villains regularly breaking into Laurels apartment in season 1 .

TheCW cut together a new promo for 5x10 that doesnt spoil the big reveal, looks like either they got yelled at for spoiling the episode or are trying to play damage control.

If they are afraid of upsetting people, then I think they are better off getting the reveal out of the way as soon as possible. Ultimately, it is all down to the execution. What they are doing is risky, as most people want Laurel back. They could have played it safe by giving us that, but chose not to. If what they are doing with Black Siren is executed properly, then I am sure most people will respond well to it, despite not liking the idea upon initially hearing it.

One of the trailers for the upcoming episode has almost a million views, which is the second most views any trailer has this season, asfar as I am aware. Wow! That is the power of Laurel ATM.

Now would be the most opportune moment for them to make such a show. Laurels stock is quite high ATM, to say the least. They have to strike while the iron is hot.
