Clara is a bit bland. Its a shame because Oswin was awesome. Since The Name of the Doctor she has been a bit better because I'm pretending she remembers her other lives but I dont even know if that's true. She needs to go crazy and have an arc that is completely unrelated to the Doctor. Like a new bf or something maybe more interesting than that.

She should get arrested for something she did in another life or meet someone she knew. Or even run into another Clara, a bad one.

YEAH TOM BAKER!

My most favoritest Doctor.

I watched my first Tom Baker clip on Youtube the other day (well, it probably wasn't my first, but I'll actually remember this one) and there was something about him that was very eye-catching and appealing. Hopefully I'll get around to watching some classic serials starring the Fourth Doctor

So Capaldi's schedule as we know it has

-The Musketeers
-Padding Bear
-Maleficent

Not really enough to interfere in the future but I wonder if he might be a victim of scheduling someday.

yeah, I agree, she started off well, but went downhill in latter half of season 7. Her character could have been so much more, hopefully now the whole impossible girl arc is done now we can finally see her shine.

that could be interesting, IF she doesn't remember maybe that could play a part too, like could be her arc, or part of throughout the season. I so think its entirely possible she could mēet another her from the future/ past that triggers her memories and it would be interesting to see how she deals with that. Imagine having memories of lives spanning centuries you don't remember living, i'm sure it would effect someone's mental stability.

The Musketeers showrunners have said they have plans in place to deal with Capaldi's schedule if The Muskeeters get picked up for a 2nd series.

Here's two more clips for you:

:awesome:

From what I've seen, I find it kinda hard to watch the classic stuff. A lot of the staging and camera angles suggest that some of the directors who worked on the show largely worked in theatre, and the last five seconds of that last clip could have been straight out of a pantomime. I'm sure the stories are good but New Who is way more appealing to watch IMO

Yeah but we have to wait for more New Who and there's decades of the old stuff. Time to catch up on the time lord hijinks while we wait. It is strange to watch the new stuff and then the old and have the Doctor talk about just dropping by Gallifrey to hang out for a bit when you know what's going to happen. It's especially bad when it's on the 7th Doctor.

There's also nine years worth of New Who stuff to rewatch :o

Question time:

Okay, so why did the season one doctor have to change his body? Is it because he kissed Rose and absorbed all the stuff from her body?

He absorbed all the radiation or knowledge (whichever it was) from her that would've otherwise killed her, I think. It's been several years but he basically had to save her life by "dying" himself taking in everything she had from the TARDIS.

My knowledge of pantomime is pretty limited, but I did watch part of a Cinderella panto on youtube one year. Really, I'd say the comedy and strange lack of subtlety in Classic Who is about the same as New Who at times. Just look at Ten getting Martha to hit his back to get his hearts started, Eleven and the Williams men playing fetch with a dinosaur, Madame Kovarian's over-the-top line delivery ("Now, PUUUUUSSSSSSHHHHHHHH"), and everything involving Simm's Master or Strax.

I will agree that a lot of Classic Who looks like someone taped a stage performance, especially some of the First Doctor stuff. The filming techniques get better once you get past the First Doctor stuff, but you never quite lose that sense that everything is filmed on a sound stage with wobbly foam walls. But pretty much all sci-fi was like that in those days. Star Trek The Next Generation debuted during the Seven Doctor era of Doctor Who, and damned if TNG's first season doesn't look like it's on the same level as Doctor Who.

Thanks! So is changing bodies something he does often?

He's only got about a dozen lives, so he does that rarely. Christopher Eccleston plays the 9th or 10th body the Doctor's used up. It usually happens every few seasons.

Did anyone watch the Musketeers thing? Crap, but Capaldi was rather good in it.

Interesting...thanks for the info! :yay:

I've been watching through Tennant's run every now and then when I'm bored, and I think it's cementing that I like Moffat and Smith's run better, over all.

I think they both have really strong episodes, but for the ones that aren't as great, I like the Moffat stories better. There are only a few that I don't want to watch again. Davies gets better his last season, but I think it took too long for him to find his footing when Moffat hit the ground running.
