I've been passed up for more promotions than I can count simply because the manager doesn't like me for whatever reason.

You and me both man!

I was always there on time, took extra shifts and when called to start few hours before actual start I went in.... and who do they promote? Someone who's known to call in when he's hung over and come's to work and just sleeping the shift away. Always playing favorites... I stood up and quiet that job for those reasons...

I was told I "lacked" to be a power, meaning I wasn't bossy enough to get the promotion, I basically was put in charge when buddy would sleep the shift away... And he got the credit.

I t kinda bothers em how my brother is already trying to teach his 11 year old son how to drive, but won't teach me, and I'm 24.

how do you not know how to drive? get an automatic with cruise control, it's the easiest thing in the world.

Well I remember when I first learned how to drive, I couldn't keep the car in a straight line in a parking lot. :funny:

But it's mostly practice. I preferred learning from a driving instructor since my dad was tasked with teaching me at first, and he yelled a lot. :o It still stresses me out to drive with him. Plus, driving instructor cars have brakes on the passenger side, in case you don't see a pedestrian crossing a road. That was my greatest fear, running someone over. :o I've been driving for over 10 years, most of them on Los Angeles freeways, and I don't even have to think about it anymore. Memorize how big the car in front of you should be to judge distance, and you can literally turn your brain off.

But IIRC, SpideyVille lives in NY(C?) and simply may not have needed to learn how to drive...ever. Move someplace where you HAVE to, like LA, and you'll learn pretty darn quickly. :hehe:

Exactly. I've driven in a parking lot a few times, but they were months and years apart. I know if I continued to practice on a usual basis, I could get the hang of it. But that just hasn't been the case. I was planning on asking my brother to help me out, but then his car got wrecked a few months ago and he got a new one, so I knew he wasn't going to let me drive it.

And yes, I live in NYC where there's a bus or a train that can basically take you anywhere. Not to mention, I rarely leave my house or my neighborhood, so there's never been a necessity for a car. Even now, I'll be working in Jersey, but commuting is still much cheaper than driving.

Well whenever I ask my brother to help me out with driving, he doesn't want to. But I just heard that he was letting his young son drive around for a bit in a parking lot, and it kinda upsets me because I wouldn't mind getting my license. Bad enough I got my permit a few years ago and it just expired since I've been waiting for him to help me out before I schedule a road test.

If it's been a few months and he hasn't helped, he won't ever find time for you. Just the way it is. Get a driving instructor. Take some initiative if this is something you really want to do.

Or if you plan on staying in NYC or another major city (aside from LA :funny: ) for the rest of your life, maybe not knowing how to drive is the thing for you.

I've actually been waiting for him for 12 years. When I graduated elementary school in 2001, he promised to teach me that summer. Ironically, his son is about to graduate tomorrow and he's already ahead of me. And my mom always told me to take driving classes, but I've never had money for it, so my mentality was if I could get it for free, why pay?

And I don't really have any issue not learning how to drive, especially since I plan on staying in NY for the rest of my life, but it has been intimidating knowing that I've had some close female friends who already had their own car. Like I would love to drive a girl around town sometime.

My Dad started taking me out to drive for a week now. I'm decent at it, I got a long way to go before I get good at it.

the kid is learning to drive at 11? tell your brother if he doesn't help you learn, you'll report him

i don't understand how you can be not good at driving...you only need to manipulate 2 things!

Believe me...I'm Asian, and even I :argh: at most older Asian drivers. They just don't look when they drive.

Sure it's easy to manipulate two things, but it's another thing to actually see where the eff you're aiming your one-ton metal missile!

I hate working at a place that doesn't make hiring a manager a priority, and therefore puts me in a position where I have to do all of the work and put in ridiculous hours - all for a whopping $5.50 an hour plus commission.

A word to job searchers: avoid Sears like the plague. That place is nothing but a pit of despair.

Cars ain't free, ya know. :oldrazz: Even if you learned how to drive, you'd still need to buy your own car to drive a girl around town. Or pay into Zipcar, and that still ain't free. :funny:

And feeling intimidated into doing something is second only to being physically coerced into doing something. It never works out well...

I hate going on Facebook sometimes and seeing that the people I know on there are talking about absolutely nothing. I mean sometimes I go on there and see some of the posts and think "what the **** are you talking about?".

I hate that Instagram got video and now Vine will die a quick death. The Vine app had a good run. Some priceless videos and lots of creativity. Now with 15 second videos, filters, and editing features, Instagram video will give life to millions of videos that lack creativity and purpose. If you thought Instagram users were annoying before, imagine the kind of crap you'll be seeing now.

Luckily, I don't have an Instagram, though I still see 70% of Instagram's crap on Twitter.

I hate that my dog is terribly sick & will probably have to be put to sleep. :csad:

Aw man that's sad to hear, hope it works out well and just think that your dog will no longer suffer.

I hate that the bootleg DVD of Man Of Steel I just bought not only is it dubbed in Spanish which I don't mind because I speak it too but it's missing the last 40 minutes of the film! This is uncalled for even by bootlegging standards. :p

Not sure why you'd buy a bootleg when you can probably just download it and burn your own DVD.
