Comic aren't video games though. This looks like a failure, and even if Assassin's Creed breaks the trend it's still not all that great. The reality is we're coming up to 30 years worth of adaptations and in that time we've had maybe a couple of half decent films. At some point we have to look at video games and ask the question are the two medium just too different for them to mix. The evidence is pointing strongly towards the two mediums being incompatible, no matter how much effort is put into them.

I don't think they're incompatible. I actually think AC is going about it best where they use the ground rules set in the game universe, but they aren't making an actual "adaptation".

The second was absolutely god awful. It wasn't even bad enjoyable. It was just...a turd...a giant, dried up turd. Poor Sean Bean, Kit Harrington, Deborah Unger, Carrie Anne Moss, and Malcolm McDowell.

Silent Hill isn't a good movie. It looked good but that's about it. I still watch it because I'm a ****e for the Silent Hill franchise and it has a couple of good moments and good visuals. The sequel being one of the worst movies ever does not make the first one good.

I still think that Mortal Kombat is the videogame film that came closest to being good and despite my love for it, it is decidedly not a good film. I gave it a 10 out of 10 when I was younger but obviously I don't give it that now.

Street Fighter Assassin's Fist (despite being released as a web series) was shot as a film and released as a film on Blu Ray and DVD. The best video game movie yet because the actors looked like characters, portrayed the characters well, the storyline was grounded in the canon while expanding on it and the characterizations, outfits, fight choreography, special moves etc were all on point.

I still think there's a good video game movie out there to be had. The pieces just haven't quite come together.

The one series that could easily work as an adaptation to me is Bioshock. Get the right writer and director, and you could have something special. Bioshock is original enough and deep enough to work imo.

to be honest i never thought this was gonna break the video game curse warcraft just doesn't have the most original story and can be seen as cliche and generic aka bringing nothing new to the fantasy genre

AC was always the better bet for 2016

That's why I wish they would have done a Diablo movie instead. Even though it uses familiar themes and figures like angels and demons, putting them in a fantasy setting would feel fresh and new versus another movie where humans and mages fight orcs. I also think some of the visuals in a Diablo movie have the chance to be more captivating.

they just need to get off their ass and make an uncharted movie already the final game just came out and has been one of the best video game series it would be perfect time to greeenlight the movie

thats a game with a great story and engaging deep characters

of Course it got Bad Reviews because you know the Critics just Love MCU Marvel Movies because its Fun , Independense Day Resurgense ,Suicide Squad getting the SAme ****wave but will be Loved from The Fans
