I love John Carter movie, but yet again I enjoy outer space adventures. The correlation is definitely the same because outside of John Carter fans and outer space adventure fans - what else is there? As a 'Warcraft' fan, while it looks cool I'm having difficulty finding anything to care about... it comes off as a film purely for the gaming fans, they seriously should have marketed this more to the general audiences unless the movie itself is overly fan oriented as well.

I remember that marketing to fans only thing didn't work out well for Pacific Rim in North America. It's a bad strategy.

Good reviews can save the film. If the film gets middling or bad reviews it is dead in North America. Overseas it will probably do well on the back of certain countries.

I'm so lost that I have the same perception of it that I think a lot of general audience members do. While it is noticeable that they show the same footage, it comes off more as "that's it? What do Warcraft fans see in this?" With a face of absolute surprise and puzzlement. Basically it comes off as less hiding footage and more just not knowing what the big deal possible could be, like is this what Warcraft fans want to see even? Just... really, really lost and confused lol.

I am a 90s kid, so I know Warcraft was never seen as popular by the masses rather a game with a strong cult fanbase. A strong following, yes, but nonetheless one that never caught on with and puzzled the masses. An example of a 90s game that every 90s kid played - Goldeneye, Mario, Sonic, Mario Kart Racing, and Oregon Trail.

Thought this appeals more to WoW fans aka the millennials than it does Warcraft fans.
Oh and Starcraft pretty much took over whatever rts stock Warcraft had/pioneered.
