I remember when Final Fantasy the Spirits Within massive failure almost killed Square soft.

As a kid who loved, loved Final Fantasy growing up. 7 and 9 are like big parts of my childhood. I was so damn confused by that movie, and worst so disappointed. I was so bored.

Advent was terrible, though seeing the Turks and Aries again totally made it worth it. Same for the Tifa fight.

And yes it is Aries, not Aerith.

Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist is so far the best live action Video game adaptation and made with a shoestring budget.

Fleshed everything out in a way that could get casuals interested and still oozed with a high sense of authenticity that most VG adaptations lack.

And yes it is Aries, not Aerith.

Again, it showed that Square isn't a film production company. The whole thing felt like a long ass cinematic; nonsensical and totally was just made for the fans.

But what bums me out is that Legendary was supportive and gave Jones (a talented dude) the keys to Warcraft and from the looks of it, it didn't hit all the right notes, so we're still in that slump.

I really does take a Marvel presence to really push for quality. Ubisoft is acting like Marvel with Assassin's Creed so let's hope it's decent. And from there, they can green light Splinter Cell. (Personally they should've done it the other way around, since SC would be cheaper to make.)

They also proved it could be done with Superman The Movie, Superman II and Batman. We don't have that for video games, and they have been trying for years.
