The Dark Knight Rises Favorite Score of the Trilogy?

So many good tracks, here are a few of my favorites off the top of my head:

Lasiurus
Molossus
Harvey Two-Face
A Dark Knight
And I Thought My Jokes Were Bad
Why Do We Fall?
Rise

Barbastella sums up Batman/Bruce Wayne IMO. First half of the track is utter tragedy, the thing that defines his life. The second half begins mysteriously as if something is coming, Rising, if you will. And then...BAM! The war drums kick in, the very (short) theme that defines the Batman character across the trilogy. We always hear it.

Why Do We Fall? is absolutely amazing as well. So much great music across this trilogy.

In terms of usage in the film:

TDK

TDKR

BB (the score can barely be heard; I mean wtf)

In terms of the overall retail soundtrack:

BB - balancing action beats and emotional strings perfectly

TDK - a little on the action side; JNH is underused.

TDKR - Just mediocre. Zimmer reuses too much of the score. Though the blame can't only be placed on him. He was scoring a film that recalled the previous films too much.

best tracks:

Barbastella

Why so Serious

Harvey Twoface

Imagine the Fire

Mind if I cut in

A Dark Knight

Vespertilio

Lasiurus

Inception is far and above the best Nolan/Zimmer score though.

It's a close one for me, but I'm giving it to what I consider to be THE Nolan Batman theme (and it's made even more obvious in TDKR that it's the theme by accompanying Batman's first appearance) - the music that kicks off the end credits every single time. The only official release it got outside of extended/bonus tracks/recording session leaks is near the end of Despair on the TDKR OST. Goosebumps every time for me - and ridiculously epic hearing it kick in as the title card smashes onto the screen.

It was on the official TDK soundtrack as well - I don't have the track name handy, but its at the end of the track that corresponds to the part of the movie where Batman "kidnaps" Lau using the sky hook/plane.

In terms of score , BB easily. No contest. I've heard my cd so many times , its ridiculous.
I remember seeing the movie in a theater which had a really (really) loud music mix...when Molossus started i think i lost it. Absolutely crazy.

Best tracks , Lasiurus , Agent of Chaos , and Gotham Recnkoning.

I'd rank the scores:

1. TDK
2. TDKR
3. BB

I'd rank the scores:

1. TDK
2. TDKR
3. BB

That would be the same for me I think. But only if TDKR has the bonus tracks included.

The End, No Stone Unturned and Risen From The Darkness FTW!

Favorite tracks:

Begins: "Macrotus", "Corynorhinus"

Knight: "Harvey Two-Face", "I'm Not a Hero",

Rises: "Mind if I Cut In?", "Despair"

Among others.

I really liked this type of sound from the scores:

I'm Not A Hero
Buyer Beware
Fear Will Find You

I've become a real fan of Fear Will Find You, over the past few days. I love how it plays over the scene with Batman and Catwoman fighting on the rooftop. Then they take off in the Bat, and the motif of I'm Not A Hero plays in the background, with Catwoman all starstruck in the backseat.

Best score of the trilogy is:

Preparation on the BB extended album. It's the score that's played when Bruce uses the piano to open up the entrance to the bat cave and takes the elevator down to change into Batman.

Why Do We Fall?
Imagine the Fire
Moloussus
Corynohirus
Why So Serious?
A Watchful Guardian
Like a Dog Chasing Cars
No Stone Unturned
We're Tonight's Entertainment
Aggressive Expansion
Myotis
Gotham's Reckoning

Why do we Fall?
Molossus
Gotham's Reckoning
Introduce a Little Anarchy
Agent of Chaos
Risen from the Darkness
Bane
Why So Serious?
Eptesicus

Wait a minute, there's an extended Batman Begins album?

I went NUTS over the beat that played when John Blake storms the hospital to try to save gordon, with shotgun in hand... It's not the same score as Gotham's Reckoning, only the same beat, without all the background chants and what not..

Anyone know where i can find it :(

Loved that beat too

No idea what its on but I loved it to!!!! I swear it plays for a solid 15 minutes in the film.

Can someone please PM where to find these extended BB and TDK scores I keep reading about?

IMO the best score of the entire trilogy is "A Watchful Guardian" from TDK.

But I also love "Molossus" from BB because it made you feel like Batman was coming

And "Rise" from TDKR is excellent as well

I have to go with BB. TDK and TDKR have some great cues and tracks, but I always enjoyed James Newton Howard's touch in BB.

James Newton Howard is the real genius behind most of the trilogy's music, or the first 2 at least since he wasn't a part of TDKR.

Zimmer wasn't too bad alone though, I really love "Why Do We Fall?" from TDKR because it went perfectly with Bruce rising from the pit
