What if it's Jean? In Last Stand, Xavier was talking about putting in the psychic blocks and was telling Wolverine that he had "no idea of what she's capable". What if this film showed Jean's capabilities?

Singer was going to do Phoenix after Superman Returns but Ratner was brought onboard and Phoenix was relegated to a side plot. Fans felt cheated out of what Phoenix could have been. What if First Class shows Phoenix in all her glory, exactly the way Singer wanted.

I doubt they'll do another major Jean story within FC..

As poorly as they did Phoenix in X3 I honestly think most people would feel like they're rehashing a plotline that was already done. They should do something else for FC

It wouldn't matter--even if it was done perfectly in X3. It's just probably time to move on to something else, as the original series pretty much was all build-up for it.

It's hard to say...A character like that seems somewhat tricky to translate onto the big screen. I still remember how dark those episodes were where he was featured in the cartoon.

I could see them doing the same kind of effects that were used for Phoenix's freakouts, but that would definitely confuse a lot of folks and for a first film in a possible trilogy, that would be a huge mistake to make.

Yeah, I tend to keep my expectations minimal in general. There's just no pleasing everyone of course.

I think some type of transportation vehicle could be referenced or introduced..not necessarily a jet..

and I think a Cerebro-type device should definitely be brought up in the movie, but it doesn't necessarily have to be explored in detail.

Xavier did have a helicopter at the end of Wolverine, so maybe the x-jet is the precursor to the Blackbird.

hmm the problem w/Phoenix is we don't know if Singer/Vaughn are going to reference TLS concerning Jean...I would like to see the Phoenix plot re-visited, imo I don't its a problem, unless it's done right...right now it would be to early but (if) part 2/3 is made I would like to see Jean lose control in a climatic battle and Phoenix like powers emerge like in X2, then their would be a scene where Xavier put the blocks in her mind and only scott knew about it...

I'm pretty sure Magneto still isn't officially cast, but it's a safe bet that Vaughn and Fox are going to be locking down on the cast that is being speculated - if nothing else, the fan reaction thus far should give them a good indication that things are going in the right direction.

Maybe it's just me but so far out of all the confirmed and rumored cast members we've got i don't see any racial diversity.It's not a big concern and i know it will probably change but it's just something i noticed.

Thankyou for bringing this up Retro because I've noticed that to. I hope Storm is in this because they really need some diveristy in this group; it's looking a little too white. I was hoping that Beast could be changed to be bi-racial or black because I think that would've been a nice revamp to the character. Oh well.
