Days of Future Past First Class Sequel - July 18, 2014 - Part 1

Jennifer Lawrence's fan base is triple Fassbender's.

Yeah, I don't see how Lawrence is less of a name than Fassbender right now, especially in the US. 2012 wasn't as kind to Fassbender as I would have liked, and it certainly wasn't as kind to him as it was to Lawrence. Fassbender's highest grossing movie is 300, and he's not even really recognizeable/memorable in it. Remove that from the list, and Lawrence's Hunger Games was seen by more people than Fassbender's next 3 highest grossing movies combined--and of those movies is X-Men: First Class.

Moreover, Lawrence's appeal extends beyond the Hunger Games fanbase. I know plenty of guys who would never watch Hunger Games, but keep an eye on Lawrence because they think she's hot. I can't say the same for Fassbender and the girls I know, because they just don't know who he is yet.

Yeah I think Jennifer Lawrence is a bigger name than Michael Fassbender. Everybody knows Jennifer from The Hunger Games. While Michael Fassbender's biggest movie is still X-Men: First Class. I don't think Prometheus was really that popular and as for 300, I don't even remember him being on that movie and I watched that movie in theater just like Hunger Games.

Most teenyboppers could give you Lawrence's name and info just by seeing her off the bat. Fassbender, maybe a few, but not so much. She will have some top billing in this next flick.

Yes, and I'm actually glad that THG was a massive success. I feel like there's still so much of Mystique's story to be told, and I didn't want her to get sidelined.

Now that she's pretty much the biggest name in the original FC cast, that won't happen.

I hope they add a potential new young star to the franchise, but this time to the x-men side.

Your forgetting this Is based on Days of future Past storyline.I doudt we see much new characters. You will have a few characters from earlier films as part of effort to connect X-Men films.

I know I'm leaping ahead here, but I'm wondering what's next after X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Will they continue with the First Class setting of the 60s and into the 70s, or will they leap to the future of the original dystopian storyline or to the new future altered by the time travel.

I wonder what they have planned next?

My bet Is moving for third film In mid to late 70's where they can start bringing In more reconiale X-Men Like Cyclops and Jean.

I wonder the same

too many possibilites

and whatever the direction they take, we'll probably miss the x-men they'll left out next time

:(

As do I. I have a character in mind. Her name rhymes with Polaris.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. If this is movie is not gonna have people from the future. Its likely that we will see a new member of the 60s X-Men. But thats the not case.

But who knows Polaris could be one of the people from the future and at the end of the movie, he stays with the 60s X-Men to be with Havok.:woot:

I hope X-Men 4 is next. The cast of First Class is awesome and everything but it is set from the past. I would like to see how Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm got recruited but X-Men 4 is way overdue! And I think a lot of people (casual viewers) have been waiting for it.

That then begs the question of which characters are being envisaged for X4. I wonder if they will mix up those from the future with those from the past and create a whole new roster.

If that Jean Grey School emblem does turn out to be part of the film in any sense, then that leans towards the New Mutants as the latest students in an X4.

But Fox is going to need some familiar faces and big names in the film, more than just Hugh Jackman.

People on here don't seem too enamoured of Halle Berry's Storm, and Rogue went from underpowered to cured so she wouldn't be much use. I doubt Rebecca Romijn would be keen to get back into supermodel shape and return as Mystique. And many people want Cyclops back although he is dead! And how much longer can McKellen keep up the Magneto role?

Where does all that leave us?

YES!! she's my most hyped character in this new franchise

but Im afraid Fox will dissapoint me not including her in the next two movies, so I shouldnt expect her. sadly

Assuming the third First Class sequel is in 2017, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan will be 77 and 78 respectively, and they'd be older when a sequel to X3 were to come out later on. While they seem to be doing alright now, that may not be the case in 5 years. If Fox were serious about making X4 they would have made it already.

I would imagine both those characters would be either absent or in not very active roles. If the events we saw in X3 remain valid after the time travel is over, Xavier is in hiding on Muir Island and in his braindead twin's body, while Magneto is cured though showing flickers of his power returning. If X4 is set in the future after the Sentinel events, Magneto may have died.
