Game of Thrones - HBO part 2 - Part 1

Article says it was the best single and first-day sales for a fiction book this year. So yeah.

I'm more interested in the additional backstory/info that we get because of this game.

Didn't know a game was coming out. I'm not expecting much since it seems like it was rushed. I'm hoping someone makes some modes based off A Song of Ice and Fire for Elder Scrolls V. Especially since that will have dragons.

GRRM actually handpicked the studio developing the game himself but it's just for PC though, which sucks for me.

Maybe, but all that back story is in the published works already. Yes a game can essentially dramatize events for people who don't wish to read it or show an event from a different POV, but I don't think there will be enough of anything new story wise.

But as I said, I'm no gamer. Frankly I don't like the things.

Yeah when they announced this game being only for the PC, I lost interest.

It apparently is too difficult for them to get this game set-up for consoles

Not sure if this is really relevant but I thought this was too hilarious and cool to miss:

Seems the folks at the Inn at the Crossroads attended GRRM's book signing for A Dance with Dragons; bringing with them some very unique treats for the author - genuine Westerosi treats ripped from the very pages of A Song of Ice and Fire. And to top it off, they plan to keep feeding him throughout his entire tour! And we wondered why he's as 'jolly' as he is...

Just steer clear of that Tears of Lys!

And so we all can feel jealous of GRRM:

It's an RTS which are horrible to play with a gamepad. It's better they focus on the one platform it'd work on then try to make a crappy port to PS3 and 360.

My thought was more along that maybe GRRM might create some more information.

Sean Bean got robbed... just like Ciaran Hinds did for Rome

It's ******** Bean didn't get a nomination, especially since he can't for any later season.

I just started watching this series and friggin love it. Finished the first 2 episodes and plan on watching the third tomorrow morning.

I would recommend not reading much of this thread until you're finished.

Oh Imnot reading the thread. Just came to subscribe :) I have been reading old thoughts in the older thread though, going along with the episodes as I watch

Might aswell not read the thread until you read majority of the books, majority of the talk is in spoilers for the books lol.

Bean shouldn't get a nomination, and nor should Dinklage. Dinklage makes for the more popular, better-looking choice, though, so that makes sense.

Before anyone gets their panties in bunches, I'm not saying they're bad. I'm saying they weren't the best. Both paled in comparison to some of their previous acting roles, because both were overpowered by the strengths of the characters they were portraying.

But oh yeah, Ciaran Hinds deserved a win for the first season of Rome, definitely. And so do a number of actors in Game of Thrones who aren't named Sean Bean or Peter Dinklage.

If Glee gets nominations, Bean and Dinklage are more than worthy of them as well.

I couldn't comment on Glee, since I've never seen the show. I wouldn't discredit the performance of an actor/actress based on whether I've seen a show, or whether I would watch it. Is Glee even a drama? If not, moot point.

But Bean and Dinklage don't deserve nominations over the better portrayals in Game of Thrones. That was my point, I'll thank you for noticing.

Yeah, I'd like to know that as well. I thought Dinklage stole every scene and was perfect as Tyrion. The only thing was his hair wasn't near-white blonde and his eyes weren't different colors.

the show got nominated for outstanding drama and Dinklage got nominated for supporting actor whats the issue?
