6 more chapters to read of A Clash of Kings. I work on a Mine Site so I can't see the show until I return to Perth which is next week. No doubt I'll finish the book before I fly back. And at least I have Part 1 of A Storm of Swords with me as well. :)

Is any of this going to be in the show? Well I guess any of this that didn't happen in the first season/book.

I've got to buy these books. If I'm gonna keep reading th espoilers you guys post:hehe: I should just go ahead and read the books.

[blackout]The clue with Daenerys in the House of the Undying should at least make it. That's a really important chapter.[/blackout]

That is going to have to come out in the open at one point

It's out now but most people have never even seen Joffrey so they're not sure how credible it is.

Renly's gained the support of House Tyrell who are the overloads of The Reach. They field the single largest force of any other house. He also has a majority of the Stormlands supporting him. I think his total strength is about 10,000.

I believe Robb said last night that Renly had a army of 100k.

Indeed. In the books, his victories and story is told solely from Cat's POV. I get GRRM is subverting expectations about the "boy hero" in fantasy by making his mother the star, but for the show it makes sense to really make Robb a much more prominent figure in events instead of hearing about them almost second hand like in the book.

Not really. Just SHOW Cersei looking for him. I don't need to be told that Cersei is looking for him and how she came about her search. Instead of Robb telling Catelyn he needs to go make an alliance, just have her be there and say something like, "Robb sent me."

The plot points are interesting but I don't need to be told how everything gets from point A to point B in tedious detail. Just have it happen.

Like I said above...SHOW it. Like I said above, why do I need to see a five minute scene of Robb telling Catelyn to go talk to Renly? She can simply be talking to Renly on Robb's behalf and I as an intelligent viewer can assume that Robb sent her because an alliance would be beneficial. These are the things I am talking about. I'm not saying "SKIP IMPORTANT PLOT POINTS!" as you seem to be implying. I am simply saying that sometimes we don't always need to show how plot point A gets to plot point B because the how really isn't important.

The entire series is going to be like this, if you are already this annoyed with it might be best to ditch this in favor of something that has much more action/lot less dialogue.

Good episode, just happy that it's back. The scope is improved and filming in Croatia did wonders for the exterior scene in King's Landing. A little nitpick is making the Dragonstone the first scene in the episode as it's the prologue but I don't mind them working around certain events. And so far so good with the actress they chose for Melisandre, I need to see more to judge but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

I agree. Book spoilers below from ASOS:

They are portraying Robb much more and will make him a key figure, so that there is more of a impact with RW

otherwise the audience might not care as much.

Awesome to have GoT back. Loved last night's premiere.

Question for those who've read the books, in Season 1 and in Bran's dream the direwolves were real (I know they were actually Tamaskan dogs). But Robb's was this giant CGI wolf.

Do all the direwolves grow to super proportions? Or was it just Robb's?

Any direwolves can grow big, almost as big as ponies if I'm not mistaken.

The direwolves grow very large in a relatively short amount of time in the books. The reason why they're CGI on the show now is because of the increased budget. I think it's an improvement. Grey Wind looked badass as hell.

Per Benioff's interview...I think some major plot points from the other books may be moved over to this season and some major plot points from the second book may be moved to next season...I think they are going to find the best fit to the plots.

Although the really big stuff will stay with the seasons that correspond to the book...like the [blackout] red wedding[/blackout]

Anyone else excited to see this character... [blackout] Brienne[/blackout]?

Season one the direwolves were basically pups, all the direwolves will grow to Greywind's size. (that of a small pony)

And of course the site where I watch TV shows was shut down. Now I don't know where to watch this :csad:.

Me! :D I have liked what I've seen in the still shots so far, but I want to see waht she will be like in action. :)

Apparently there is a screencap of Ghost from episode 2, HBO GO Dutch has episode 2 early. Ghost looks pretty well sized:

Alright ep last night. Not as good as the Season 1 opener.

Ghost!

By the way, what do y'all think will be the first major event to happen this season?

My money is on [blackout]either Yoren and most of Arya's group get massacred or Renly being assassinated by the shade. I think both will probably happen around episode 3.[/blackout]

Just some speculation.

Very excited as well, I don't think it'll be long, either the next or the succeeding episode after.

Ugh.

So much bad happen to the good guys, GRRM better make this right in the end and not make it like Mass Effect 3

I believe Robb said last night that Renly had a army of 100k.

That sounds more accurate. Robb had 20,000 last season. With the Riverlords, he probably has about 30-40,000. Tywin probably has about 70-80,000. So if Renly has 100,000, combined with Robb they would outnumber Tywin 2 to 1 as Robb said.

I think they'll drag on with [BLACKOUT]Renly[/BLACKOUT] as it's the bigger event so I think they'll follow how the story was laid out in the book mostly so [BLACKOUT]Renly's death will be around episode 5, my guess.

Arya's group being attacked by raiders will happen first, maybe on 3.[/BLACKOUT]

[blackout]I'd guess Renly's murder[/blackout]

The attack on the Yoren, Arya, Gendry, et al will be the first action, probably episode 3 or 4. Renly's death will be the first major turning point. I'd guess episode 5 since last season that was when Jamie attacked Ned.

One thing I hope they do is [blackout]go into more with Stannis and Robb's lack of an alliance. It would explain more about a certain event in A Storm of Swords.[/blackout]

Looking back, Robert really wasn't such a bad king. Considering his son is practically Caligula.

As someone who hasn't read the books, do they ever explain why the seasons are so extreme? I'm assuming the story is set on a planet with a whacky orbit. We never really see the sky in detail, so it's hard to tell.
