Can we ban this as a response here? Aside from existing in two different mediums, the book itself isn't infallible and free from criticism.

So true. But alas, no, we cannot ban it. :funny:

No. Because pretty much every question asked in here can be answered in those pages.

Never seen people so resistant to a book but still willing to ask salient plot points. Geeze.

If it happened in the book (such as the Septon being ripped apart by starving peasants), then there's no problem with it being in the show.

great episode

finally some jamie!!!

question on ending since i have not read books
were those 2 bodies the stark boys or those 2 orphans that climb trees that Theon showed all burned.I am thinking the orphans but theon will play it off like it was the stark boys to show his leadership and power.

[BLACKOUT]Bran and his brother are still alive. Those were probably the kids climbing the tree but in the book I believe they faked it the deaths using different heads.[/BLACKOUT]

it seems they are moving alot of stuff from book 3 up to season2.

Some good moments. Pacing felt really off cutting between scenes to me.

Yeah, it did. I think it was because there were so many long scenes, like the [BLACKOUT]Jaime breakout scene[/BLACKOUT] and the Arya/ Tywin scene.
But that ending... I knew it was coming, but I wasn't expecting them to show so much...

Yeah there was kinda two cliffhangers in a row. Thought it would have been better just to end after the scene with Jaime.

I love the Arya/Tywin scenes. Always a joy to watch. Good episode tonight overall.

:D Vgritte describing her "box" to Jon was hilarious.

I geeked out when Ygritte said "You know nothing, Jon Snow."

But the preview for next week said there are only 2 episodes left. That has to be a mistake, right? There are 3 episodes left in the season.

Episode 18: The Prince of Winterfell
May 20, 2012

[blackout]Theon receives a visitor and holds down the fort. Arya calls in her final debt with Jaqen in a way that displeases him. Robb is betrayed. Tyrion and Varys find common ground. Dany ignores Jorah's advice. Stannis and Davos approach their destination, and Davos is offered a reward.[/blackout]

Episode 19: Blackwater

May 27, 2012

Episode 20: Valar Morghulis
Jun. 3, 2012

Looks like Theon is trying to be the most detestable character in the show. And that's quite a challenge. Jaime tried in this episode too.

Good to see Cersei isn't entirely delusional. She sort of complimented Robert in this episode.

I get the sense that Tywin knows who Arya is. She's given him enough clues.

arya and tywin scenes are great i love the little cat and mouse conversations between them.i dont like dany this season tired of her mother of dragon speech every week and that fake tough look on her face.

Yeah she has gone from the vulnerable and scared cutie to the *****y and demanding mother of dragons.

I enjoyed the episode. The show has been going on all cylinders now for the last four episodes and, like I expected, has become better and better. The scenes between Arya and Tywin are still great, albeit he is getting a little closer to the truth than I would like (surely Tywin should be able to do add 2 plus 2, considering he knows Arya Stark is missing). Theon has truly gone past the point of redemption and that worked great. The changes to Dany's story were fine and has made it far more exciting than it was in the book. Love Jon and Ygritte. She's already stealing the show. Poor Sansa (feels like I say that every week). And it's great to finally see Jaime again. His "bonding" with the cousin Frey-Lannister (Frannister) was great. but....

I'm disappointed they had Jaime kill him. It's the first change from the books that's actually bothered me truly this season. Yeah, the character is a minor one and dies in the third book anyway. However, Jaime, despite his "prestigious" title, actually does view himself as somewhat of a man with honor. He has his own moral code and I really don't see him performing kinslaying which is a truly horrible thing in Westeros. Yes, he killed Aerys. But he had a very good reason for that beyond saving his own skin (which we should find out next season). Murdering a Lannister just seems very out of character.

Otherwise, great episode.

Not really since he's never seen Arya Stark or knows her personality. He's probably expecting her to be more like Sansa as opposed to a tomboy.

Well, I haven't read the books, but as a viewer, I got the sense that he knows she's Arya. Judging by the "if you're going to pretend to be a commoner". She's given him enough clues. He knows she's from the North, she to him loyalty killed her father, and she was disguising herself.

He knows she's from the North. He knows she's high-born. He knows she's unwilling to tell him who her father was and cryptically says he died from "loyalty." Why is she trying to hide her name? Also, even if she isn't a Stark, a high-born from the North would fetch a potentially powerful ransom and/or make a great hostage. He's getting way too close.

I was amazed to see Rickon get even a glimmer of screen time this week. Poor boy seems to just be there for show. Also, I'm not fond of the new Gregor Clegane. He doesn't seem like a "mountain" to me. He's tall, but he's not massive IMO. I'm also really growing to like Tywin. He's a Lannister and I hate pretty much all of em, but I like Tywin's attitude.
