There are some that sympathize with Jorah. I am not one of them. I am kind of upset by how they have romanticized him on the show.

For what it is worth, he is way better then Daario. Now there is a real piece of work. Stupid Dany.

Jorah Mormot? He was never in the Night's Watch to desert. He fled Westeros because he sold poachers on his land to slavers. Ned Stark wanted his head for it.

He was given the choice to get his head cut off or take the black. He ran instead of joining his father.

You are not a part of the Brottherhood until you say the oath. Jorah never said the oath therefore he is no deserter of the Watch nor is he an oath breaker. He was given a crappy choice. He chose option C. I suppose you wouldn't have done the same? I'm a survivor and like hell I'd lose my head or take the watch if I could escape without harming someone.

Have to say I do find the Starks a rather boring bunch (I'm including Jonny). Good, loyal and all. But about as interesting as, well, nobody in the Lannister camp. Except Arya, and maybe Rick-on. Break out character waiting to happen.

He may be a cripple who rides in a basket on a half-wit, but he's destined for something great.

No because his mother was a commoner. Robert does have a son with a woman of House Florent (second most powerful family in the Reach after the Tyrells. Also Stannis' wife's family) named Edric Storm. He would have a claim if he were legitimized.

As I said they'd have to execute me before I'd go to the wall and in the words of Tyrion "I like my head where it is." The punishment didn't even fit the crime. A lifetime in the watch or my head! Whatever crimes he commited he's more than payed for, he feels immense guily at fleeing, about betraying his father and the devotion he shows to those he loves is a fairly positive thing IMO

A man can change and Jorah has paid for his crimes every day of his life since fleeing. The only thing he did by fleeing was deny a nobleman his justice. Besides I pity him simply for having to put up with Dany. Poor bastard fell in love with one annoying person.
