Don't know about any artist renditions but this was apparently from the show and never got included. No one knows where this footage is, the producers are mum on it. It was in one of the early, early trailers for season 1.

I think I heard something about them originaly wanting to include flashbacks to Robert's rebellion, but it was ultimately dropped. Wisely so, because with only 10 episodes they were pushing it. Now if they wanted to take a year off the main series and do a one season flashback to Robert's rebellion that would be badass. That would alow Martin more time to keep the books ahead of the series.

So Barristan Selmy and Roose Bolton have been listed as new. And other new cast members aren't listed at all. Interesting.

I don't know about the quality of the footage, but assuming it's good I would've easily preferred it if they just made the season longer.
I really felt like Robert's Rebellion didn't feel as vivid in the series as it did in the books. Flashbacks would've helped a lot.

Remember, little sadist Joffrey is set to marry Margery Tyrell, and Tyrion is married off to Sansa to consolidate the Lannister's power (during which he threatens to geld the king), so EW's probably hyping those two. It's only a "spoiler" for people who already know about the Red Wedding, since there's no way HBO and co. are going to let that slip in a damn EW article.
