Joffrey may not be kinder or smarter, but I got the sense that the experience at Blackwater humbled him somewhat. He now seems more willing to stay in his high-chair and be quiet while the adults do the work.

I simply can't view Joffrey as growing, being humbled, or otherwise being less of a deadbeat. He will always be the guy who
ordered Ned's beheading
. That spoiler is probably fair game, but you never know.

Really looking forward to seeing Tywin and Joffrey interact with one another.

I'm surprised at all the comments on the web about how it was a "slow episode"? It's been that way since the 1st season the show works more like a marathon than a sprint it always starts off slower than builds up til it reaches episode 6 or so where something big usually happens that'll dictate how the season ends.

Anyways that giant scene was great although i wonder what kind of relationship the wildlings have with them? I mean can they get the giants to fight for them?

Each season is like one single 10 hour long episode. The rise and climax like in any episode won't come until the middle to end. In the case of GOT it is episodes 6-9 followed by episode 10 acting as an epilogue of sorts. People are so used to network television and weekly arcs that they struggle with stuff like GOT. There isn't really any kind of arc in a single episode. No traditional rise and fall spanning 40 minutes. No procedure. The episode starts from where the last week left off and ends abruptly. Its just the way it is. You'd think that by the third season people would be used to it, but I guess not. I personally love the way the show is laid out, but it isn't going to be for everyone.

Yeah i don't have an issue with it either. Although it does limit things with regards for inventive or different types episodes.

Since the story is always moving, moving and the episodes follow that it's unlikely we'd ever get an episode that only follows one character. Or some sort of side-quest or event unique to that one episode.

In the end it's probably best to think of each season as essentially one 10 hour movie which is sort of what i do.

Joffrey isn't humbled. He always been quick to get out of the way when actual things are going down. He is coward, plain and simple.

Ygritte is so hot. God damn!

Understatement of the millennium.

I remember an interview with Stephen Moyer (True Blood) where he said you have to sign a seven year contract for any American tv show.
David Morrissey on AMC's THe Walking Dead said the same thing. Even though he is only offically signed on for two seasons standard the American network thing is to sign actors to a 7 or 5 year contract regardless of if they intend to use them for that long or not.

I was disappointed that we didn't get to see the Battle of the Fist of the First Men.

Finally saw this. No big problems with it, although the show's version of Jon and Mance's conversation doesn't really sit right ("I think you want to be a hero"? Based on what, letting his brothers die and killing Qhorin Halfhand?).

Really liking this direction they're taking the Tyrells. Margaery alone comes across as a competent player and if Olenna is anything like her daughter, it sets them up as convincing new contenders.

And Bronn, of course, pulling out all kinds of win. I do like that they reminded everyone he's a sellsword and not just Tyrion's "friend."

I actually really enjoyed this episode's pacing, as well. Everything moved along at a good clip and nothing really dragged (although I would have axed that Sansa scene, frankly).

Fixed. :D

Agreed. Besides they have to set up for some stuff and sometimes you gotta have a little filler to do that properly. :)

Is it just me, or does she look way better this season than she did last?

I think she looks the same, she's just a lot more attractive now that she isn't going, "WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS? WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS? WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS" every five minutes.

Maybe that's it. I'm already less annoyed by Dany this season

Is it sad that GoT did a better job on creating a giant than Jack the Giant Killer? lol

It's more that HBO is a premium cable channel whereas FX is available in most cheaper packages. Also, Walking Dead sucks.

Maybe the reason you think Walking Dead sucks is because you've been trying to watch it on FX.
