Game of Thrones - HBO part 2 - Part 7

My guess is that they did not know they were abandoning Dontos when they wrote the first episode of Season 2. But it is still a nice scene for Sansa in the show.

Latest episode was amazing, so many good moments, Theon being ****ed with, though his confession was well done, he genuinely sounded sorry for what he had done. Brieene giving Jamie a pep talk was great, and then THAT ending, Daenarys, was so amazing in this scene, I had a feeling she could understand all that guy was saying about her, and seeing him get cooked was awesome, and the final shots, wow.

Was sad to see Lord Mormont die, the nights watch really is a mess at the moment, will be interesting to see if/how they recover.

I just want to see Rast's head on a ****ing spike. Though Burn Gorman's "You are a bastard. A daughter-****ing Wildling bastard" line was gold. Craster got what he had coming to him. Hopefully Grenn and Edd are all good.

What, is she some sort of sadist? :o

I liked Mormont, didnt want him to die and surprised when he did, was happy to see Craster bite the bullett though, he deserved it.

She's a poxy southerner. I liked old Mormont, too. Was Burn Gorman's character in S2, or a new addition in S3. I don't recall seeing him previously.

Pretty sure he's new to this season.

Margaery and Sansa friendship warmed my heart. I was so happy. I know it's probably for ulterior motives but still. So lovely.

Yeah, not just any Lady in Westeros would offer to marry a girl to her gay brother just to get her away from the Lannisters. :o:up:

True. I just wanted them to kiss and make up. There has to be some ulterior motive in this show :(

D&D said in an interview not so long ago that Ser Dontos will show up again.

Question for those who have read the books: [BLACKOUT]A friend of mine said that he heard that Theon will pretty much remain captured and tortured for the remain of the books. [/BLACKOUT] This true?

PS: From the last episode:

[blackout]Theon had no POV chapters in ASOS or AFFC. The show is filling in the gap with what happened to him between ACOK and ADWD. In the books, he was still a prisoner for most of ADWD.[/blackout]

The way the show plays with your emotions can be summed up in the scene where that a-hole craster finally got what he deserved (yay) followed 2 seconds later by mormont getting killed too (ah man!).

Such an upper and a downer.

For me, it was more like going from a bloodthirsty joy about seeing Craster die, to a bloodthirsty desire to see Rast die.

Yeah they've been working on the rast angle for a while now it was only a matter of time before we saw him go off.

It just pissed me off how that whole situation went down. I mean it was obvious that craster had to go and he served no purpose to them but for it to turn into that whole ****storm.

Unfortunately mormont should have been able to forsse that and probably should have taken out craster himself just to keep the peace.

I have been harboring that desire for a while. I was hoping Mormont would choke the little **** to death before he himself died, but nope!:cmad:

And I love the cinematography here:

Silly question but how popular is 'Game of Thrones' in the UK? Just curious.

Seems rather obvious to me. Olenna (Margaery's grandmother) and Varys' conversation (in addition to the latter's conversation with Tyrion) more or less spelt it out. The Tyrells are simply consolidating their power.

The Starks are an important lineage with a respectable name and are lords of the North, which has historically always been a place that was difficult to conquer. And as far as they (and most of Westeros) are aware, Sansa is the last of Ned's children save for the Robb. Once he is defeated, Sansa will hold the key to the North.

On the flip side, in the unlikely event Robb does win, having Sansa be happily wedded to House Tyrell would give them some degree of protection and influence in Robb's new kingdom.

Craster had a pair on him mouthing off to a bunch of murders and theives who are starving and he was outnumbered.

Somewhat popular.

Its on the channel Sky Atlantic. If it was on BBC One/Two or Channel 4 it would probably be bigger as those channels are more watched.

The Lord Commander would never take out Craster because he has honor and respects the rules of another man's house. What he should have done was gutted those two traitorous Crows to keep everybody else in line.

One of the things I love in this book series is how great men can die or get maimed to the most menial thing or person.

This was the first time I was not annoyed with Daenarys. I wish she would just take over the continent she is on and forget about Westeros. After all this is the land where her ancestors came from.

I also love all the political machinations in King's Landing. Tywin is so awesome. I really love the actor playing him. He has a great voice and presence.

I almost felt bad for Jaime...almost. Then I remembered what he did to Bran and I'm glad for the trials he is going through. I am rooting for him to be a better man afterwards.

There is honor and there is logic and common sense and frankly as a good leader the latter should sometimes take precedence over the former.

He should have known what the sentiments were like among the crows at crestors were like and how crestors actions were doing nothing but aggravating them more. When it came to survival for his men he should have realized it was going to be them or crestor and crestor was a man so far from honorable that his "good deed" didn't make up for it.

Unfortunately mormonts sense of honor for a man's house ended up being the end of him. It wasn't just rast and the other as you saw the whole camp of crows was waiting to blow up. I think in GRRM's world acting purely out of "honor" or "respect" often leads you to be dead. Hell look where Jaimie's good deed landed him?

Honor didn't save Ned Starks head either. No point being honorable around people who don't value honor. GRRM's world is filled with lies, cheats and backstabbing. People will exploit your honor if you give them the chance.

Just saw it. Such a good episode. Alfie Allen better win some damn award for his portrayal of Theon, I'm surprised at how sympathetic he's remained. It's getting almost redundant to point out the good performances, but the sympathetic "villains" are being done quite well this season.

And man, they're really flexing that budget muscle this episode between the Sept of Baelor and the Astapor ending. I'm eager to see future battles with this heightened level of production value.
