So. How bout that Beric Dondarrion?

Episode was great. I'm a little disappointed in the Loras scene though.

"When the sun has set, no candle can replace it."

I was seriously worried for my boy The Hound. Glad we haven't seen the last of him.

And I thought Lysa had weird post-partem depression. At least she didn't keep her failed heirs as a collection.

Jaime's scene in the tub is one of those emmy worthy moments

I lawled at the [blackout]Robb beheading Karstark[/blackout] scene. It mirrored the scene of Theon beheading Ser Rodrik, but whereas it took one strike for Robb, it took like five for Theon. :funny:

Greyjoy scum. :o

Theon was in such a hurry he didn't bother to ask for a proper sword. Idiot.

I'd read about the backstory with Jaime killing the king on a couple wikis, and it was very cool to finally see it on the show. Nikolaj was a boss tonight, 100%.

"She's a lovely girl. Missing some of Loras' favorite bits, but I'm sure they'll make do."
"Your jokes are not appreciated."

FFS, Tywin, I know you hate him, but that was gold. Throw the lad a bone. :o

Great episode, definitely the best so far this season. They covered a lot of characters but it never felt like it was jumping around. Every time they changed scenes, they made you feel like you got enough to satisfy you for this week.

They're portraying Robb's blunders well. I don't recall if he was counciled to keep Karstark alive, but the show makes his execution more of an impact on his foces. I also like that they're changing it from the book with him deciding to attack Casterly Rock instead of [blackout]retreating to take back the North[/blackout].

Yeah, just a great episode. I don't know if it helps that they don't have to introduce anyone new for awhile or it was just a better directing job this week.

After Jon's performance in the cave, I suspect not many people are gonna talk about his other proud moment tonight, when he threatened Mackenzie Crook for calling him a liar, asking about what happens to his psychic pet crow when he dies. There's not many scenes of Jon being a badass, so I liked that.

Dearly loved the look on Cersei's face when Tywin turned on her. Yeah, not so much fun when he's s***ing all over YOUR dreams, is it? I'm curious to see the next scene between her and Tyrion. It may be the first time in a long while they could possibly be like "what can WE do to get out of this mess?!"

FFS, Tywin, I know you hate him, but that was gold. Throw the lad a bone.
Yes it was, but as we've seen, Tywin also hates laughter.

I don't really get why Cersei is so upset, considering what her life has been like so far. From the sounds of things High Garden is the nicest place in Westeros. Especially with "wintur" coming. And Loras wouldn't exactly force himself upon her. Hell, she could probably take Tommen with her. Is she really going to miss Joffrey? He can always come visit, if she starts missing his angry outbursts.

True. As someone on youtube hilariously put it, a staring contest between Tywin and Stannis would last YEARS.

It probably doesn't have as much to do with anything she's being told to do, but the fact that she's being told to do anything at all.

I don't get Tyrion's objections. Sansa would probably let him do whatever he wants (go on ****ing, etc), if he lets her do what she wants (sit in a room and pout).

As Oberton said, the last thing Sansa (as well as any Northerner) would want is giving birth to a Lannister with a claim to the North. She'd rather pull a Cersei and have inbred children with her brothers (including Jon who she never really liked).

That's true. Though they haven't really talked much about the polytheistic religion.

I do find it interesting, that given how much Westeros is modeled after medieval Europe, that the religion seems to have so little power.

Apparently that dude who got ripped apart in the riot at King's Landing, was the equivalent of the continent's pope. I don't even remember them giving him a name in the show.

That's another thing that's fascinating about the series. There's the Old Gods are similar to pagan gods and R'hollor a new religion with overzealous worshippers. Yet there is more evidence that they actually exist or have some supernatural power in the world. Whereas the Seven, with their septs, septons, and septas that almost everyone worships don't have anything to prove of their existence.

She may indeed see the silver lining if she must, but yeah, Tywin just dropped her into the deal without so much as a "by your leave." Also I suspect Cersei would just really, really like to be betrothed to someone who actually wants to have sex with her for once.

After all her schemes and plots, she's still just a girl. Still just a bargaining chip.

Without being able to hear her thoughts like in the books her actions arent as clear, but essentially Cersie would prefer it if she were a man and running things. Anything that gets in the way of her running things is a negative. Her being shipped off to Casterly rock or Highgarden to birth kids and being away from the politics and power in the capital is opposite of her plans.

There is also the fact that it will split her and Jaime up. She wants to be with him in the capital when he gets back. Her husband is dead which gives her free time to fool around with Jaime more. Its more than carnal lust tho. They are twins and in her mind they are halves of one whole that is only complete when they are together. Once she is married to Loras, and has left the capital her opportunity to be with Jaime will be damn near slim to none. This is maddening for her.

She doesn't care whether Loras is gay, that is actually preferable to her because the only man in her mind that is worthy to be inside of her is Jaime. Her other half and the only man she feels is anywhere near being her equal.

I suppose that just once she'd like to marry a guy who actually wants to **** her.

What a great episode. Just as good as last week's epic. Poor, poor Sansa. I feel like I have to right that every week, but this time it is especially true. ;)

It was a great episode for Jaime. He and Brienne are going to become a fangirl obsession across the Interwebs, I am sure. But it was just a really nice character moment. Tywin is really bringing it now.
