Even if he didn't tell why, you don't need to be a genius to understand the reason or at least understand that it was a good thing that the King died, he saved Robert a lot of trouble.
Furthermore, after Tywin betrayed the King, where was Ned honor ? Nowhere because Tywin was too powerful to be given a shameful title like Jamie.
Robb has even a worst sense of honor than his father, he made a deal with Lord Frey and broke his word for a woman, killed of his banner men instead of using his brain and jail him.

You and I see eye to eye on so many things including this topic. When Rob broke his word to Lord Frey I was done with him. To make matters worse Rob actually believes that Walder Frey is going to help him take Casterly Rock?! Now that is hutzpah!

All of you make valid points regarding the Greyjoy's being worse than the Starks at playing the game. But I still contend that the Starks are worse is because of expectations. We expect the Greyjoy's to be bad at the game. We expect them to be *****es. I want to gouge out my ears every time I hear their "paying the iron price" saying. We expect more from the Starks because they are your heroic type of family. So for them to screw up so badly in every aspect of the game makes them the worst for me.

And this is where the Game of Thrones really shines. It is not about "good" or "evil" but about the interaction of fallible real people and the consequences of their actions.

He probably just needed to sit down. There aren't a lot of chairs in there and killing the f*** out of a crazed tyrant really takes it out of ya.

True, but that chair hurts! It's made out of swords :hehe:

They all swore allegiance to the King, they are vassals, so no matter what, they broke their vows of loyalty, like Jamie did. The Stark and the other Houses hide behind a veil of honor but are not better than the Lannisters save for Joffrey who should not even be on the throne and has no sense of kingship.

Again, yeah, you make a good point. But when Robert rebelled, Ned's family members had already been killed! Also, Ned wasn't the King's bodyguard - he did the right think with joining since 2 of your family members get killed, you need to do something about it - honour for your family and to make a point. It was straight, honest and clear - no deception involved - that was the intent. Of course, what happened later was so much ugliness - that I can never defend.

And what Jaime did? He saved the people. He even warned the Mad King twice! I can defend him too, especially after watching his latest scene. But he's proud too of what he did, rightly so. It's just that he should've never been that smug and explained to the others, rather than assuming that people would understand - and since he didn't do that - he paid for it with his denigrating nickname. And that made him cynical and stuff. Brienne made a good point.

You don't remember Viserys crowning ?

I had to google "Viserys" after reading your post, because in my previous post I was talking about the old man that was part of the king's council or whatever in seasons 1 & 2...and not Daenerys' brother. :o

Too many damn characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're thinking of Varys the eunuch. Viserys is Dany's brother.

I ship Varserys. :o:up:

Throw some Samwise Gamgee up in there. :o:up:

No, not the eunuch...the character I was thinking of is an old man with a beard (I'm too lazy to bother to look up his name). He isn't around anymore though I don't remember why.

Sounds like Pycelle, but he's still there...

(Breaks vow of laziness and googles "Pycelle")

Yeah, that's him. Don't recall seeing him this season...

He only was in the musical chairs scene.

Wasn't he the guy that let Theon free, only to lure him back into the dungeon? Mordor did a number on that poor hobbit. :(

Looks like he's become an evil Hobbit. Dammit. :(

Oh yeah, he's around. He was in the awesome "Musical Chairs" council scene with Tyrion and the rest of the gang. I think of him, Varys, and Littlefinger as the Three Stooges.

He is just hanging on for attention at this point. Just barely.

Aren't the Frey women supposed to be ugly? so I don't blame Robb for breaking his vows.

Even if she was ugly all Robb had to do was marry her get her knocked up with a heir and a spare and then never touch her again.

Dude, Robb is trying to fight a war and needs soldiers and allies. A King doesn't marry for love or attraction but for political gain.

How does Beric Dondarrion do those twirls with his sword? That was badass :awesome:

Also love how Dany got misty-eyed when Grey Worm explained keeping his name.

They also control a vital river crossing, so even if Robb wins his war, if he ever wants to go home again it would be a good idea not to piss them off.

Robb will honorably tell Lord Frey that he is sorry but honor dictated him to marry a prettier girl than his ugly daughter or he will honorably lie to him and marry his daughter for polygamy is an honorable Northern custom.

He knows the Discipline of Steel !

That explains it - the man's fabulous :awesome:

:hehe: Ned's rolling in his grave. Also, Robb will honourably withdraw from the war and then honourably retreat to the Wall. :p
