I think he thinks that they stand no chance against the White Walkers. So they want to bust through Castle Black and the Wall and then find a new home beyond the wall.

This is why. The wall is in the way of his escape from the walkers so he is going to try to get over it or through it.

Any chance we see [blackout]Coldhands[/blackout] this season?

I loved the way Barristan Selmy said "She's a Targaryen. The Last Targaryen." The way he said Targaryen seemed funny.

Robb is paying for what he did but this is a young King, he was rash but also had to prove a point. Karstark was wrong with what he did and even though Robb loses half his forces he knew that might happen and he took a risk with a show of Force. His gamble was ill advised but he took it, now he thinks he might have a plan to regroup his forces. Plus with Karstark saying he wouldn't get a death sentence in front of his men Robb had to call that bluff, really no choice if Robb still wanted to look strong.

Just another example of being honorable in westeros getting you into trouble.

I think Robb should quit his war and go North to help. Then this would win him more respect for helping out - he really needs more stuff like that after his mistake of breaking the wedding pact. The if he triumphs, he can amass a great force and march South.

FWIW, in the books, Robb decides to go back North. I like the decision to deviate and have him attack Casterly Rock since it plays up his incompetence.

Any chance we see [blackout]Coldhands[/blackout] this season?

I think so.
They may make it so Sam only encounters a White Walker once instead of a White Walker and wight, the latter being where Coldhands saves him

Monarchs put up with ill behaved subjects all the time. They allow it as long as they serve a purpose. Karstark may have been mouthy, but he was never going to turn on Robb (he hates the Lannisters more than anyone else). By killing him, Robb lost a huge chunk of irreplaceable men, and probably a good bit of respect of his people.

He could have just locked him up, or sent him home. It was just a dumb move anyway you look at it.

Robb won't become an old king. He'll either be killed by the Lannisters, or get stabbed in the back by one of his own.

I think Robb should have had him take the black, but then I guess others would take advantage of this? Dammit, this is complex.

I'll agree Robb has been making poor decisions, but really, Karstark was a dumbass for putting him in that position and probably got a better fate than he deserved. "The Kingslayer killed my son! Oh, I guess I'll just butcher these two 12 year old distant cousins of his! Look at me, getting my vengeance!"

Are you ****ing ******ed, Karstark? :o

Yep. Pretty much.

Scene of the episode (I will do one of these with every episode):

Jaime talking about Ned judging Jaime for killing the Mad King without even caring to hear what happened is the reason I hate Ned so much. His holier than thou honor or death mentality was the match that lit the powderkeg. He repeatedly did the honorable thing and it repeatedly ****ed **** up. Killing the Night's Watch deserter before getting to the bottom of what happened beyond the wall, telling Cersie that he knew about the incest, not fleeing the capital with Renly and regrouping etc; all honorable but completely stupid decisions.

Jaime did the right thing by killing the Mad King whereas Ned would have upheld his oath and honor and let the whole of King's Landing burn.

Honor doesn't work in the capital. Only bribes, politics, and scheming and he failed at both.

The later stuff, I could at least understand, but passing judgement on Jaime for killing the Mad King, it's like.... dude, did you just forget what the guy did to your brother and father? Come on, now...

Ned found Jaime sitting on the Iron Throne with Aerys corpse at his feet. How did Jaime think he would react to that? Besides, what stopped Jaime from telling people about it afterwards? He has only himself to blame for that.

Ned's foolishness got him arrested but he gave in, confessed his crimes, and was going to take the black as the Lannisters wanted. Instead, Joffrey takes his head and provokes a war with the North on top of the Stannis and Renly claiming the throne.

And seriously they could have spun it as Jaime being an undercover agent for the rebellion. Tywin sacked the city so the people would have thought Tywin was always secretly on the rebellions side and it would have looked like Jaime was just waiting to strike. Yeah it still would have been a broken oath but it would have looked better. Or hell they could have just told everyone the truth. The king was insane and we shanked his megalomaniacal pyromaniac ass. Instead Ned and everyone else leave Jaime out to dry and don't even attempt to see the good in what he did. He gains the name Kingslayer and Robert gets a crown.

It also makes me dislike Se Barristan somewhat for the way he talks of Jamie's Kingslaying. Would Ser Barristan have killed his own father and watched as thousands burned?

At least Jamie understands the hypocrisy of it all.

And lets be logical, Tywin entering the city under false pretenses then turning on the Mad King and pillaging and raping the city was far worse than Jaime killing the king and his pyromancers. Oaths be damned. Jaime was protecting the innocent and his family. Tywin was taking advantage of the situation and destroying the city while making a profit.

Someone needs to make some Tywin Lannister "Like a boss" gifs. My favorite villain on the show. He's pwned all three of his children verbally. :funny:

It gets worse.

Noooooo :(

Are you ****ing ******ed, Karstark? :o

Did you see his face when Robb shouted "They're boys!!!" If only Robb kept putting his foot down like that. Dammit, his story kinda became dark and scary now. It hurts but Karstark really made me pissed off. :(

Yeah. Jaime thought they'd treat him like a hero and got shocked. No wonder he turned out so cynical and turned out like the man he was before now. He should've at least tried to explain, though, just tried. But I guess he was too proud. But yeah poor guy. Still doesn't change what he did to Bran, even though I understand that, but dammit, he got so much more interesting to me now.

I loved Blackfish decking Karstark across the face when he was backtalking.

Jaime's a complicated fellow. On the surface in season one and in book one you couldn't help but hate the smug bastard, but they way GRRM deconstructed him and bared his soul to the reader over the course of the books changed everything. The show has done a good job doing the same. He is like an onion, or a cake if you prefer. Layers and layers and surprising you when you least expect it. Easily one of my favorite literary characters.
