Game of Thrones - HBO part 2 - Part 8

what a miserable depressing wedding. Didnt think it would actually happen for some reason.

How old is Sansa supposed to be? The thought of Tyrion having sex with her seems bordering on child rape to me. Oh there she just said she is 14. He's old enough to be her father.

"Nobody cares, what your father once told you" LOL.

I actually quite like this guy and thought his scene with Dani was good. Oh well, glad I didnt get invested

BTW, what do the dragons feed on? Have they shown that?

The stuff with the Wall seemed out of place in this episode but I guess was neccesary to advance that plot in the next episode

Dragons eat meat. They showed it in the past ep or two. Plus they showed them catching fish in another ep.

Just finished watching it and wow, what a great episode! loved Tyrion and seeing Kalisi showing some skin again was fantastic. it is gonna be a long 2 weeks now though

Tyrion definitely stole this episode for me. From the moment he steps into Sansa's room to escort her to the wedding, with him stuttering and being a bit tongue tied as he tries to talk to her/to assure her, to his drunken behavior at the wedding dinner and his outburst to Joffrey (the litte twit - Joffrey, that is, not Tyrion), to him telling Sansa that he won't share her bed unless/until she wants him to and then when he proceeds to just pass out on that chair (I loved that the camera stayed on Sansa's face and you hear the *THUD* happen offscreen)

I think Sam had more dragonglass. Also, if I was Sam, I would've pissed myself lol. Picking up the dragonglass wouldn't even come to my mind.

Well protecting the only opportunity for sex he's likely to have does tend to take top priority... :oldrazz:

Is it wrong that I thoroughly love every scene of Theon getting tortured? I can't stand that guy.

Poor Tyrion. If he didn't happen to look the way he does, Sansa would've been overjoyed to be marrying a filthy rich nobleman who treats her as well as he does. :csad:

^This !

one criticism though : Sansa 14 years old ? The actress looks older and she is a tall and impressive girl, i can't buy that she is 14 years old.

In the first episode, she told Cersei she was 13. It would only have been a year or less since the events of the first season, so they'd have to keep her age relatively close to that. In the Thrones-world, once a girl is able to bear children, she's marriage material.

Sansa was only 13 when she married Tyrion in the book. Although...keep in mind, Dany was only 13 when she married Drogo in the book too. :wow:

Every scene with Tyrion was my favorite part of the episode last night.

That's true :oldrazz: but he just killed a white walker - he must have been really freaked out at what happened & just legged it! He is kinda cowardly, no offense, Sam.

"If my father wants someone to get ****ed then I know where he can start."

:hehe:

Here's a question about white walkers, are they only those demon crack head looking things or are the regular people who are turned into blue zombies also "white walkers?" Is there another term for the zombie things?

*hopefully this can be answered without divulging important book spoilers.

I never really thought of it until now, and probably because of the Shae factor, but it would be a great twist (and character arc) if Sansa ends up loving the true flesh and blood hero that is Tyrion, flawed as they always are, over her earlier, naive idealized vision of who she thought her "love" was to be.

White Walkers are the ice demons, the undead servants are called "Wights."

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up. The show seems to be using white walkers as a blanket term even for the undead servants.

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, he did just become the only living member of the Night Watch to have slain a White Walker. That kinda thing can trump everything else.

Does Westeros have like a legal drinking age? Or perhaps a recommended or encouraged drinking age?

I think this episode more than any other this season had me all "No! It can't be over already!" Maybe I'm just saying that because it's the most recent.

Quick question: The last time the Walkers invaded, before the wall, I'm guessing Wildfyre hadn't been invented yet. Right?

Ned and Catelyn didn't let their kids drink wine until they were older than 10, but I think there isn't any clear law on the subject, just common sense that you don't give small children wine. But in this world you're officially an adult by 13 so ...

I'm probably missing something, but what's Stannis' beef with Balon Greyjoy?

Hasn't Balon named himself King of the Iron Islands? Stannis was naming each of the people he sees as usurpers/false kings.

Stannis views the whole realm as his. Balon is a usurper in his eyes just as much as Rob and Joffrey. The Iron Island are still part of the realm and Balon is trying to take the North as well.

I see. Thanks, both of you.

I wonder if we'll ever see Dagmar again after ditching Theon.

That's not the only thing Sam still has. If you go back to Season 2 there is another item in that satchel of dragon glass that is very important. The show hasn't really gotten into it yet though. However I'm glad it's there.

I'd reckon there isn't any legal drinking age since the show errs more on the realistic side in terms of its setting. The reason for this is that in this pre-sanitisation era, one of the only ways to ensure you're not going to get cholera or some other bug by drinking is to mix a little bit of alcohol into it; which was what happened in reality as well.
