The Dark Knight general public....

3. There are Joker warnings on the television set during the MTV movie awards with an ugly clown face and a 'We will be back to your scheduled programming soon' or something like that. Then the Joker breaks in, shoots people and grabs somebody hostage. Batman swings in to the rescue and knocks him out. They have a quick fight and the Joker escapes! (leading into the DARK KNIGHT)

Please tell me this is just a horrible joke gone wrong :|

remeber what the jokers first line of his new game was " Patience is a Virtue" That can mean 2 things eaither we all have to wait and see what happens or to quote joker again " The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules" therefore meaing he breaks his own rule and might even give us something before the 17 ????:) sincerely Mr.Napier

Napier is not the Joker's name. He is like Clint Eastwood in the Sergio Leone movies, the man with no name.

I think by all this Viral Marketing WB is really implying to the fans that they are ones to market this and Halloween was the major day for this. However, this plan has backfired on WB because as a result I haven't heard more people talking about TDK. People need to start marketing the s**t out of this movie. Go house to house, door to door, state to state or even country to country and grovel at the feet of people who make up the General Audience and beg them to go see this movie. Seriously people we need to do something to make the Batman movies return to the once Box Office Gold status it was at else the only solo superhero movie to make huge Box Office will be spiderman.

Get down on your knees as if your praying and beg:

"PLEASE OH PLEASE GO SEE THIS MOVIE. WE BEG YOU!!!"

Come on though, WB aren't daft -- look what they're doing to us! They're taking the fans to another level . . . they're virtually making us involved in this film -- draggin the fan out of the water almost felt like backstory for the film; kinda like The Animatrix, only in reverse.

All I'm saying is, how many people come on these boards? Times them by all the family members they waffle to about this (I know I do :D -- Teh Heath Joker iz teh boomdaddy) and you get quiet a wide variety of people. A couple of trailers and a few eye-catching posters nearer to the time will be plenty to grab the rest.

This film will do fine at the boxoffice . . . if we're realistic and not expecting too much, that is.

egg (o)

Yes but I still think you guys should start begging people to go see this movie. First start with people you know then people you don't know and then then the rest of the world.

Do you work for WB or something?

That's not our damn job, Warner Brothers invested in this movie so they have to advertize it.

WB are very smart people.

I thought rent-a-clown was the end, I was wrong.

What's with the new stuff on whysoserious?

On Smallville's fourth season finale, they showed a ten-minute clip of Batman Begins; I wouldn't mind the same thing on Smallville's seventh season finale.

I remember that, that was a great preview  I was kind of surprised that they didn't do the same thing before SR came out, but they did debut the SR teaser trailer on Smallville so maybe we will get to see TDK with it in December the day before it is with I Am Legend.

I thought that they may do a preview for TDK again with this seasons finale but that could all go out the window with a writers strike.

One teaser will get everyone including the general public super hyped about this movie, after December it will go into crazy overdrive.

What you do is commit your own viral marketing. Dress up like Batman and break into your friends house late at night and wake him up and say, "I'm Batman" and stuff like that. Then leave.

The next time, set his car on fire and leave a note saying "teh Jokar wuz here" and stuff like that.

Lol! I almost choked on my drink reading this.

Nothing to be sorry about,it's your oppinion :cwink:

Anyway you're wrong about the hype...BB made 205 millions with no hype, with no major villains(nobody outside of comic book circles knows who Ra's and Scarecrow are) and with people's bitter taste in their mouths after the 2 terrible movies.I mean for gods sake there were children hanging in Pirates,so i dont think The Joker will cause some kid to be scared...you're missintepreting hype..i'm not saying that TDK will make 400 millions but it will open with around 100 millions and if everybody is like OMG the movie rocks,it woudnt surprise me at all to see a number like that...if the movie sucks it will drop like SP3 did,but i really dont see that happening in any way.Batman is household name and just because it doesnt have a Melrose Place love story like SP it doesnt mean that it's not as popular.Just look at 300..a movie that no one new about like 3 months before it opened and it made 210 millions while opening in March and being R rated...TDK will do 300 like nothing...when it opens, till the end of the summer there is no competition for it..Indy is in May,IronMan also...you will, mark my word,TDK will be a tremendous hit.:woot:

And the thing about the trailer....when it goes out people will be desperate tyo watch the movie....it's ridiculous to say that people are not hyped for a movie that its 9 months away...when we are in May we will have this same conversation again and you will see my point...Transformers got their first footage teaser in December also...and the movie had an amazing hype prior to it's opening.

Well...people know well enough about scarecrow all right...

If there is anything that can make the public aware of the story about some villians and etc, the cartoon and animated series is doing a very good job.

People will always remember a little bit from the cartoon they have seen since young.

I've put the new Ledger pic as my desktop wallpaper. My girlfriend, who's not at all a Batman/Comic kinda freaked when she saw it. She didn't know what it was but she found it disturbing.

I think this movie's gonna redefine a lot of stuff for the "general public".

No he's a troll, he only can love things that are Marvel, he would marry Marvel if he could do so legally. Just ask Socko about explodes predictions on Iron Man Vs. TDK. He thinks TDK will only bring in like 300 million world wide.

Oh wait....explode which movie got most anticipated movie at the Scream Festival.......Iro- Oh no I mean The Dark Knight did thats right.

Of course the general public doesn't know much about the movie... It comes out in freakin' July...

the general public knows about ironman, and indy 4...as well as many other summer movies.

Just relax, after the Trailer it will be all the buzz with the "general public"

No they don't. The average Joe Q Citizen knows no more about either of those movies than he does about the Dark Knight, especially Iron Man.

And how does that make me a troll for thinking that? Thats my opinion. And why can't Iron Man make more than TDK at the Box Office? It has everything that a summer blockbuster movie has to draw in the masses which is cool vfx, great story(so far), good actors, family friendly character, cool villain as compared to TDK which has cool character (wouldn't call him family friendly), little to no vfx (most likely), well it does have good actors so thats a plus, dark story (murdering and psychopathic clown wreaking havoc with a machine gun). TDK has a smaller audience than Iron Man IMO in terms of these elements described.

Who is the villain in IM ?

Iron Man could be a surprise hit Fantastic four made loads of money as did its sequel you never really know whats going to happen in cinema.

So, you're telling me than an un-known Ironman villain is more atractive than the Joker?
