Still think it's bizarre that this movie didn't get a teaser with TFA.

I was disappointed. The only reasoning I can think of is that they wanted to keep the focus on TFA being the "main event", and perhaps they're still figuring out how to market the main saga/spin-off/main saga/spin-off release pattern.

Or it just wasn't ready, what the **** do I know?

The lack of news on this movie is giving me F4 flashbacks.

The amount of silence from this movie is really surprising.

Patience, my friend, Patience....

There's been trickles of news, but nothing major.

It's maddening but exciting at the same time. That means when something finally hits, it's gonna explode.

They're likely waiting for TFA to finish up it's theatrical run (it'll likely be out of most theatres in the next few weeks or so). Then they'll really start to ramp up the marketing.

"May the force be with you", it's a special Star Wars day or something like that.

It does fell odd that we are only like 10 months in till the movie and we know nothing. We have no casting news, no trailer, no set photos nothing.

Uhhh, yes we do......

Please people stop being over the top. 99% of films don't release trailers until half a year or so before release. Rarely do you get teasers 1 year in advance. Right now they are letting TFA get all the attention. Now that things are winding down I figure in April things will start to go forward.

Oh yeah, that full cast and cast photo really shows a lack of casting news. Are you expecting them to be casting people towards the end of the shoot?

And that's all we have.

Usually, at the very least, we would have a teaser by now, even if it's just a voice-over with a scene or two. A considerable amount of marketing needs to begin when TFA runs it's course, to educate the GA where this falls on the SW timeline.

I wouldn't be surprised if they dedicated a portion of TFA BluRay/dvd bonus material to showing some exclusive Rogue One material, even if it's just story boards…..

No we wouldn't. The only reason we got a teaser last year is because Disney forced it. Otherwise the first footage we would have had came at Celebration.

Don't apply other blockbuster rules to Star Wars. They do not apply. Lucasfilms will wrap this in darkness and silence until they don't want it to be. The didn't even show the footage from last year's celebration.

No we don't. Most films don't do a trailer a year in advance. They just don't.

First Civil War trailer came in November, didn't it? Was there panic over that one being Fantastic Four all over again because the trailer only came out 6 months ahead? Genuine question, I wasn't following too closely.

Yeah sometimes you get a teaser trailer a year in advance, but mostly, 6 months is around the right time. I remember waiting for the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer about this time a couple of years ago. First trailer dropped in February, movie was released in August. I would expect something around April or May.

Thought we would have got a little teaser for this during Super Bowl. Guess since we're fresh out of Episode VII they wanted to wait.

We will probably get the first trailer with Captain America: Civil War in May. That will give them 7 months to market the film which is more than enough.

Bob Iger says Rogue One filming is about to conclude. This movie has been shooting since August.

About the same length of time for TFA. Also he said: "Filming of Rogue One is virtually completed" Sounds like they have been pretty much done but just probably doing some pick-up work.
