If this rumor is true (I really hope not) then it would make sense why they canceled that one star wars game. Wasn't that game suppose to be Boba Fetts story?

The game didn't start that way but supposedly George Lucas waltzed in (well maybe not literally) one day and was like, make this game be about Boba Fett instead of the direction they had before.

Why would they keep the EU. Seriously, people who complain about that don't seem to understand the fact that doing so makes little sense. If they're trying to explore more of the SW universe, then keeping themselves bound to a bunch of side material that they had no part would be stupid on their part. They can pick and choose interesting elements from the EU to incorporate into the films "coughThrawncough," but they'd be dumb to keep it all. That only LIMITS storytelling possibilities. Plus, lets face it, large chunks of the EU are kind of crap.

It's people like you who can't handle oporions different than your own.God forbid someone here doesn't go off on the let's bash George Lucas and prequels rants.

You just went off on everyone who doesn't like the prequels, and yet you complain about the existence of people who think differently than you?

You need to stop complaining about what everyone else thinks and stick to the subject.

Or will they say Boba Fett survived being eaten in ROTJ?
Well, isnt this Boba movie set between episodes 4 and 5? or maybe 5 and 6? if that's the case, it's irrelevant to what happens in ROTJ. And the smarty pants dies in the saarlac pit anyways (lamest death ever by a character that's meant to be so badass anyways). This would make this poor schmuck dumber than PT Boba imo :funny:. It could actually explain this death now that i think about it. Jango wouldnt have gone down like this :p

But if this Boba movie takes place after episode 6, then it gets more complicated. It would mean that, like EU made it so, he escaped the saarlac pit in episode 6, and at some point he gets killed by some dude (badass ESB Boba gets offed by some random guy lol) and continues the legacy of the guy he killed, which of course doesnt make much sense to me. Wouldnt you rather be the badass mofo who killed Boba Fett rather than kill him just to impersonate him? I really dont think they'll go down this route. I think the Boba movie will be set between 4-5 or 5-6.

I dont mean to offend anyone btw, i've just always found Boba Fett extremely overrated lol.

What other possibilities do you guys see for this Boba movie?

If they went ahead with crazy as hell retcon, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened maybe a little before Episode 4. Maybe THIS Ret-Boba becomes the rival to Lando and Han, not the Prequel-Boba.

But there's also some consequences too with this retcon. Minor ones though. They means they probably can revert BACK to Boba's original and very awesome American-accented voice in 'Empire'. But there's other stuff too. The Star Tours 2 ride at the Disney parks would have to ADR a new voice for Boba Fett to eliminate his old Aussie one…though the ride takes place before Episode 4.

Or maybe Boba gets replaced in between Episdoe 5 and 6, so that the one who died was a clumsy goofball?

I think the major thing though is that this retcon will totally dismiss the Prequel Boba from The Clone Wars cartoon. So why follow a character only for him to die and get replaced later with the same guise? I don't know.

I understand both sides. This very notion of a retcon is both tacky and genius at the same time.

It's also ultimately pointless unless they plan on doing something further with him.

Back to Episode 7: While we're still in the dark, if Latino Review's rumors are remotely true, I'm a little sadden that the 'next gen' character that the series will eventually focus on seems to be a male. Again, we don't know enough so I can be totally off. But after all these rumors of a female lead, though nothing was really substantial that came out of those, so I can't fault JJ for that.

But it would've been nice and different, I must say.

I hear ya, i was excited about that idea. But hey, there's still hope that the main new character will be female, who knows. We know so little, it's still all possible. I hope we can get some answers to these questions once they announce the cast.

This has been my worry since disney bought and they hired Abrams to direct.Pissing over prequels. So now they are going to piss over both prequels and Clone wars and special editions.

I am fan of George Lucas' Star wars.all 6 films and Clone wars film+Series.Since he sold Lucasfilm to disney and has no involvement anymore.

I don't know why disney and abrams doesn't just reboot so they can ignore prequels, and clone wars entirely and let abrams just copy original film and empire In this trilogy.

I know antiprequel cwoad on this board will praise everything Abrams does.

Star Trek Into Darkness Is exhibt 1 why I am not thrilled with him.Plus the godawful Superman script he wrote makes me nevous on his rewriting the film.

I hear you on this and I agree with you buddy!

We’ve heard that Ardnt was much more into the story of the Solo kids, while JJ felt – and still feels – that this the story of the Skywalker line.

That just doesn't make sense to me. The Solo kids would still be Skywalkers.

Well my prediction was right from over a year ago. I knew which group would be against these films no matter what. Even if you had Frank Darabont, Spielberg, Nolan, and every big director/writer on it I don't think some would still be pleased. I've noticed that what it really boils down to in my eyes is after years of the "creator/people in control" of SW for the past 15 years or so has listened to one fanbase over the other. Now the opposite is happening. It's somewhat ironic because for years I always heard the ..."Deal with it" with all the retconning, and changes GL made and the excuses behind them in the SE's.
Now it's swinging back the other way. Not that people can't feel taht way, but I think it has nothing to do as much with the development of the film rather then most of those in control did not like the movies some seemed to have loved over the OT. (the PT).

I don't think they will mess too much with the PT anywho.

I think they will just more of sweep it under the rug. The Boba Fett idea to me sounds wonderful. It does not erase anything Boba did in the PT/TCW, but it kinda brings back the core essential to Boba Fett which was the "Stranger" type the faceless man, the wanderer type. The idea of the film gives me goosebumps.

I see it as it won't erase Boba from the PT, but it will bring back the core things/emotions people loved/felt about Boba in the OT.

To me that news makes me more excited to see that Kasdan is working with JJ on it. Making sure the script will be at it's core SW in the important ways.

As for the LR report I was guessing THR was kinda wrong on some aspects. The difference between Solo/Skywalker kids is the familial dynamic the characters can have with Luke more so then Han, Which I agree with. A father/son relation with Luke is more essential especially with the continuation of the Jedi, because he is the new Yoda so to speak.

I don't think as we've said THR is completely right since so many of the casting calls for the new people are for LEAD/MAIN roles, but sadly the damage is somewhat done because no one wants to hear the good news lol. But focusing on Skywalker children is the right thing to do in my eyes. Yes the Solo kids have Skywalker blood as much, but not necessarily the father/son relation or father/daughter relation they can have with Luke who was the core "pass on what you have learn" character of the OT.

That Boba Fett rumor sounds terrible. Retconning parts of the prequels is not the way to go, no matter how you feel about them (personally I neither love or hate them – likes some; dislikes some)

It's not retconning it though really. It does nothing to the Boba of the PT/TCW. It actually makes it more understandable and more true to the character making it someone else who takes the guise of Boba. Like Octoberist said, we can bring back the awesome original voice.

Kathleen Kennedy Discusses Plans for the Star Wars Canon

With Lucasfilm's new "Sandcrawler" building having just opened in Singapore, The Straits Times (via /Film and ToysREvil) managed to catch up with President Kathleen Kennedy, who teased some details about plans for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII and about the overall direction the franchise will be taking moving forward.

"There is no attempt being made to carry characters [from the standalone films] in and out of the saga episodes," she says. "Consequently, from the creative standpoint, it’s a roadmap that George made pretty clear… The canon that he created was the Star Wars saga. Right now, Episode Seven falls within that canon. The spinoff movies — or we may come up with some other way to call those films — they exist within that vast universe that he created."

It sounds like Kennedy is saying that, while the standalone films are set in the Star Wars universe, fans should expect the stories that they offer to go off in new directions and that ties between those films and future saga episodes are to be quite minimal.

That's probably for the best, by not having a character from the ST running off with their own spin-of etc.

I'll say it in every post forever until we get one...but man I hope for KOTOR trilogy.

I don't like this Boba Fett rumor, because it makes no sense to me. Why make a movie whose entire point seems to retcon stuff. Besides, I like Temuera Morrison.

It does give them more freedom with aproach. Only time will tell how this will go about and if it will work or not. Make a Kenobi spinoff happen with Ewan McGregor, and i shall be pleased *waves hand around* :oldrazz:

BTW did u guys hear about Bats and Sups getting pushed to 2016? One less big blockbuster that year. Those boards must be on fire. I think ill go have a look. I'm sure the drama over there will make the silly PT vs OT discussions look tame LOL.

This may be your main reason, not the other. Because technically GL already retconned him once before. The Clones had nothing to do with Boba originally actually Lando was suppose to be a key part of the "Clone Wars", he changed it last minute and shoehorned in a "Boba Fett" like character to try to get us OT fans to come back after Episode I. So he kinda created an elaborate story around Boba that really was not needed and went against what the character was in the OT. And then retconning his awesome loved voice.

It really does not retcon everything, it actually allows the PT and the un-altered OT versions to co-exist peacefully.

This means no way in hell will LFL push Episode VII to 2016. It will stay locked with December.

Don't. They're about to start eating each other.

The change with Boba is horrible, I hope they don't go through with it, what was added in AOTC enriched the character wonderfully.
