Ghost Rider 2 In The Works - Part 1

I want to see Vengeance.

The recent video interview from comic-con the directors said that Nic Cage is pretty much the only thing they are taking from the previous film and they are taking a new approach. It is basically the same situation as what The Incredible Hulk was to Hulk...except in this case the lead actor is reprising his role.

Have they said anything about changing the origin at all? Because if not that could be another indicator its a sequel, despite what the directors say, I know they are trying to differentiate the movie, but it seems there are a lot of things they are carrying over other then just Nic Cage.

At the same time their comments worry me, one of the things the first movie had going for it was it was pretty damn close to the mythos, what I have heard about this sequel suggests otherwise, Blackout being a main case in point.

Relative success of GR1 at BO doesn't mean it general public liked it. Second Transofrmers film outsold other 2 in US but its negative effects were so big that hurt the opening of the 3rd film and even force filmmakers to almost apologize for it. Still, I know sales count for something. Hopefully this is not a case of Punisher WarZone or Incredible Hulk and can really become a fun hit.

Cage could actually work as JB if he brings his Bad Lieutenant spirit here specially with creators of Crank behind the camera.

If it didnt have good WOM at the BO, then its drops would have been higher, it actually didnt drop that much week to week, any more than any other blockbuster anyway, and good DVD sales indicate it was liked enough for people to buy it in good numbers.

Hopefully this means general public is indeed ready to accept a sequel then. Most movie sites and blogger really REALLY hate GR1.

I'm glad Blackout is the villain in this film, I can't wait to see him in action against Ghost Rider.

Just watch the video interviews for yourself.

Yes but movie sites and bloggers barely make up about 15% of the movie going public, i'd even argue if they make that much of a percentage.

Problem is though it aint Blackout, has his name and thats about it, I dont see why they didnt use the real character, unfaithfulness is my biggest issue with this movie so far.

People seem to forget the last Ghost Rider was released in February as well and did very well at the box office. Don't see the release date being changed.

Really? I heard that this Blackout looked just like the Blackout from the comics.

The only thing different is that he's more powerful and he's transformed by the Devil instead of being half-demon (no big deal).

It's part sequel, part reboot. Then they
Went ahead and changed some of the GR mythos along with it.

Blackout in the movie isn't a vampire. Ghost Rider acts more like Zarathos, and if I'm not mistaken, Dan Ketch isn't a teen from NY who stumbles on an enchanted motorcycle in a junkyard.

What do you mean Ghost Rider acts more like Zarathos?

Blackout seems like he's gonna look just like he does in the comics and I didn't know Dan Ketch was in this movie.

Wait a second. My understanding is that the boys name is Dan just to pay homage to the character Dan Ketch. I must've missed something. Where have you all had confirmed it is actually Ketch?

Well he apparently has the power to absorb victim's souls. Zarathos had this same ability, which is why Mephisto saw him as a rival. The kid that showed up in the first movie set screens was Dan. He obviously is a lot younger and I'd place my bets that they will relate him somehow to Danny.

Whether he's just a character named Dan or not, he'll be the closest to DK in this story.

Well he aint a vampire, and his powers are similar to Blackhearts in the first movie rather than the comics character, plus, he has the ability to stop Blaze turning into GR according to the script, no, this aint Blackout.

The boy is Danny Ketch.

And Blackout can't prevent Blaze from becoming Ghost Rider, but he can use his decay powers to force Zarathos back inside Blaze.

^Still doesnt sound like anything he could do in the comics, not to mention it will make for crap fight scenes.

It is impossible to have crappier fight scenes than the first Ghost Rider. This movie has the frikkin directors of the Crank movies. Even if the movie is bad I at the very least expect the action to be insane.

The first GR didn't have any fight scenes. An enemy dude would show up and die in 3 seconds. Even the final showdown was just talk and staring.

But seriously, I truly agree. They can't possibly have lamer fight scenes than previous one. As for Crank directors, I actually kinda liked Gamer. I know a lot of people hate it but it was really fun.

Have you read GR's and 'Blackouts' supposed 'showdown' in the script? It sounds worse than ANY of the action scene's in the first movie.
