Also have to remember the series doesn't go into production to julyish. So who's to say costume for later episodes might be modified for a mask, and other things from pilot could change. And the slime case if any one from pilot is unable to do series and roles have to be recast/reshoot scenes for pilot.

Looks like he is going to just paint over his eyes.
Yep. Which is better than nothing, I suppose.

I do think there's a chance that once he realizes this isn't some short-term gig, he'll start evolving his methods/equipment with the trick-arrows and maybe make himself a practical mask of some kind.

I am sure he will and like I said abbove things from pilot to series change usually. Some times its just minor things you don't really notice. Other times sets changes, outfits change and all that.

It's a TV show that may get seasons,He can get a better suit&a mask latter on then upgrade his bow&arrows a bit latter on!!

Totally we are just seeing his origins and start as a hero. Unlike sv take he was operating for a time prior to his premire. So having tech arrows, and modifing costume are things we could see happen later in season, end of season,etc....

The action, as well as the trailer as a whole looks awesome. As a long time fan GA, I'm happy this has come along well thus far. Looking forward to October.

What DC has for television and animation are DC Nation shorts, Young Justice Invasion, Green Lantern Animated, and the upcoming Green Arrow TV series, Superman Vs. The Elite, and Dark Knight Returns. On the movie side, we have Dark Knight Rises and the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel.

I heard they'll call him "Arrow" in this as his superhero name, in order to diffrenciate him from the SV version.

Well I don't see that being bad really. I made comment before doesn't ollie go by that by other heroes and villains from time to time in comics. And who's to say we won't hear someone call him green arrow from time to time.

Stephen amell comments on arrow:
http://splashpage.mtv.com/2012/05/18/stephen-amell-arrow-interview/
"It's pretty kick ass," the actor tells MTV Splash Page of what we should expect from the CW's take on Green Arrow this Fall. "There's a lot of action; there's a lot of fighting. It's close hand to hand combat and it's aggressive. The entire pilot just keeps ramping up the entire way. You don't get a break." As for the training he went through (Amell can be seen looking extremely buff in the clip, trailer and TV spot) he said, "It was the basics; it was like 'wax on, wax off' stuff. I did a bunch of parkour, and then I got into weight training and the specific fight choreography for the pilot, and that sort of continued to ramp up as we went along."

"I think that when you see the pilot, other than in name, the characters really don't have anything in common," Amell confirmed when asked about any similarities between this and the Green Arrow introduced in Smallville and played by Justin Hartely. "It's very different and people will get that after about two minutes of the show." As for the costume, he added added, "The idea for the costume was I wanted to be able to put the costume on by myself. Because if I could put the costume on by myself that means that it's functional and if it's functional people will buy it. My boots are actually Nike Frees, which is kind of cool. It's leather and it's tight and it's aggressive, but I can move in it. People will like it."

I hope they add some witty remarks to him as the show goes on so he isnt to serious during his "work" or even everyday life.

Maybe after he finishes his vendette on the guys who wronged his dad.

The parts on the island look straight out of Diggle/Jock's Year One. LOVE IT!!

Hopefully they better realize Black Canary than Smallville did with it's female protags.

I just wanna see Katie Cassidy is fishnets. :o:up:

Yeah, I noticed that about the island parts. It got me really happy, because that's my all time favorite Green Arrow graphic novel. Even the way he looks is very similar to Ollie in Year One. :woot:

I'm very interested to see who ends up on the shows writing staff.

Ok but like I said even if they say no powers right now, maybe they will done the road. We have to remember the series hasn't gone into production and producers/writing staff for series could change views. But I really still don't want supes totally cut out. That limits a lot the show could do, use down the road..

Also when you think of it likely we are just seeing ga for time being and of choice he doesn't have powers. And most of his comic villains are ninjas/assians and a few tech base guys. So the no powers comment could be that. We will see over series run.

As for writing staff I would expect probably some vnacouver based writers so maybe some former sv folks, bsg, eureka, wh 13 guys. Just like we will probably see as series directors.

Webhead, just admit that you were wrong about the superpowers and fantasy elements.

Injecting it into the show later on would be like throwing in superpowers into The Dark Knight Rises. It completely goes against the realism they're working to establish.

Everything is pointing to this series being grounded in realism.

Movies and TV shows are different things. TV shows can evolve. Look at Community, first season ilthe final arc is about them trying to pass Spanish, third season the final arc is about them trying to save the school that was being taken over by a wannabe warlord (their ex-Spanish teacher). Lost said in the first season they wouldn't have that much Sci-Fi elements flash forward (literally in some cases) to season 5 otherwise known as the time travel season. Just because all signs point to no super powers doesn't mean they will never happen.

I think depending on how outrageous they get with Ollie's specialized arrows, they could definitely move the series towards enemies using super tech against him. Force field generators and such.

And even in realism setting they can do powers seesh that is the point I am trying to say. Untill the show itself states metas don't exit. They can easily bring those aspects in. And make it work withing a semi real world setting.

It would probably be low-level metas like telekinesis. Something the could be ignored as some kind of special ability like psychic ablities.

I think the WW pilot had drug-enhanced superfreaks.

Totally they don't have to go crazy and bring in flying leaping, dudes and all that. Stuff like canery scream, low level super strength guys can easily work. Just give some prosudeo science reason. And like I said before. If they leave door open. They can play the card of no metas gone public, and been hidding in the shadows. Which is where myths and legends came from. Its not like we need to see the jl, jsa appear in the first season or two. If anything just canery with her connection to ga. And as for villains majority of ga villains are either ninjas/assians and a few low level tech guys easily doable. And then if they where to do say the villain with rock skin they could say he has some freak medical condintion. Or is pumped with some pcp like drug where he feels no pain and bam still can work for semi realism angle.
