i really honestly want this score to excite me but it really just seems like your run-of-the-mill rc score. I find it very underwhelming.
rc?

Run of the mil my arse. This is easily sounding like one of the best soundtracks of the year.
I was one of the people slightly upset about the score from Trailer 3 (I've grown to love it lol), and even before that I thought it sounded 10x better than the Iron Man 3 OST lol
I was pleasantly surprised by IM3 score.
Link fixed. That is really coolThis is so awesome. I wish my high school band director was this cool!

I've been listening to the 90 second samples at the gym for the last few weeks, it's awesome to train to, super motivating.I can't wait to listen to this at the gym and on my runs starting Tuesday. I may try to take off, emergency room be ready.

Are you telling me that last trailer didn't do anything for you? Play it and only listen to the track. what about An Ideal of Hope? Nothing? Dang. I hate to see what gets you going if that doesn't. the tracks I'm heard have a lot of color and emotion in my opinion. Cant want for the whole score.
Zimmer's "Remote Control" Productions, in which all of Zimmer's protege's help him write the majority of his scores and produce scores of their own that all have the same flavor and characteristics. They create dozens of scores that feel bland and extremely similar (for example Steve Jablonski of RC composed the Transformers scores, which borrow heavily from Zimmers DK trilogy scores, especially the two-note main "motif").
I was hoping MOS would be a return to the good old days of Zimmer's better compositions, but it seems so far like its just the regular RC fluff that can be transposed onto any film. Music mass produced.

I'm not sure what you mean. Was that supposed to be an insult?
so basically you don't like his recent work so therefore it's "mass produced" and you feel you can say that like it's fact?
Why are people so sensitive? I mean dang. I just find it hard to believe that you wouldn't get evan a little bit pumped up for some of the tracks you've heard from MOS.
Not to mention, many of the people who've been coming out of recent screenings have mentioned how great the score is, and how much of a positive impact it had on the movie. More than one person has said something to the effect of: "I bought/pre-ordered the soundtrack minutes after leaving the theater." It sounds like he's produced something special here.
I'm not being sensitive. I was asking if you meant to be insulting / patronizing in your phrasing by asserting that my opinion is unbelievable, or if you in fact meant something else. It was an opportunity for you to clarify.
I tend not to get offended by forum discussions.
I've no doubt its popular, as are almost all Zimmer scores. At the risk of being misunderstood, though, I'll note that Justin Bieber's music is popular but many would hesitate to call it "something special." I'm not saying Zimmer is like Bieber (I'll head those straw men off at the pass) but I am saying popularity doesn't necessarily translate to quality in any direct logical fashion.
