Call me crazy, but I'm getting a Clint Eastwood vibe from Henry's Superman in a couple of scenes we've seen in TV spots so far.
One is where he's facing off against Zod in flight ("You're a monster, Zod. And I'm going to stop you"). The other is when he saves the guy and asks if he's okay. The first is more relevant to my main argument, which is that this movie - as suggested by Snyder - will feature a tougher, more "badass" Superman.
I'm not saying that Cavill is intentionally mimicking Eastwood ... just that Clint is now so embedded in our cultural DNA as the ultimate movie "tough guy" that his performances continue to influence actors, maybe even subconscously. And that's not a bad thing. (Jackman's Wolverine is a good example, where any Eastwood influences are subtle and only serve to enhance the overall performance.)
