Wooden? My gawd I SWEAR the people who want to wank on this movie make up their own complaints in there head and believe their own filth.
Cavill play his part the best anybody could have played it. He seriously did blow me away with his performance. He didn't act like he was an actor playing the character. He literally BECAME Superman as I saw it.
That said, he was playing a Smallville Clark that held very close to his chest considering the upbringing he had to live and learn through. Even as an adult, he still had to take the ribbing from others and be forced to hold everything deep inside of his gut.
He knew he wouldn't be totally satisfied with his life until he found out what his reason is, all the while, holding true to his character by willingly hiding his powers discreetly in heroic acts.
It's a troubled character with a heart of gold just wanting to be told "YES." Cavill screaming "DAD" wasn't wooden in the slightest. His scream at the end wasn't wooden AT ALL. Him begging and pleading with Zod and showing agony and fear in the midst of it all was outstanding. Him reaching out for Zod as he sinks beneath human skulls reeks of versatility.
The way he delivered his lines as Suprman was as super-as humanly possible. The voice he gave him as Supes was perfect. Even the scene in the Fortress when he performs heat-vision surgery and the innocent, charming look he gives Lois Lane to trust him isn't considered wooden by a longshot.
Cavill played his part(s) perfectly and he seemed to really nail Daily Planet's Clark "Good to be here Lois" that automatically gives off his potential range fans should be excited about moving forward.
I'd re-cast Cavill for the role 1,000,000 out of 1,000,000. Can't sing his praises enough.
Exactly
When Henry was Clark he was unsure of himself and looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. When he was Superman he was confident, commanding and seemed more comfortable in his own skin.
Henry managed to convey that with minimal dialogue which is good acting in my opinion. You take dialogue away from some supposedly good actors and tell them to express themselves purely from body language, facial expressions, ect and they can't even do it. Acting is more than just speaking lines or the way you say lines.
hafizbat kinda went off on me, and I decided to throw up my hands and walk away. It's not worth the energy, ISS.

Oh he was the one who blubbering about you being mean to him? I remember him now. It's too late, I already sent him a sassy pm. I'm waiting for a response now. Come on you know me, it's impossible for me not to have responded to that.hafizbat kinda went off on me, and I decided to throw up my hands and walk away. It's not worth the energy, ISS.

It really is easier to write it that way.On another note, I like how my little acronym for I See Spidey is sticking.![]()
I swear don't mess with ISS.
I'm so happy and excited to see Henry as Sup and how well he embodies the role. Can't wait to see him dive into the role more in the sequel.
I'm intrigued to see where Henry goes from here. I really hope he nabs that U.N.C.L.E. role that Tom Cruise was attached to at one point.
There are some people under the delusion that I am not intelligent because I think Cavill is sexually attractive. That I'm giving him a pass in the role and in life just because I think that he is a sexy mofo. No I am not a silly girl, I think he is damn good in the role because I just do. I've liked males since I saw Keanu Reeves in Speed. At least that's when I took notice and thought "hey, I like men!" Obviously I liked men before that but it was damn well solidified at that point. So basically I'm not going to apologize or pretend that I don't find certain actors sexually appealing. My embarrassingly silly dirty. jokes about the man will continue.Connor your sig....![]()

A guy comes on here doing some obvious jealousy based trolling because he didn't like the film and he has someone stick up for him because I taunt his obvious troll post. Seriously if Core wasn't trolling this thread then why did he write one troll post? Other people have said they didn't like his performance and guess what? I mostly didn't say a lick to them because the vast majority of the posts aren't a drive by trolling and I didn't feel like discussing the topic at that point.
I really would've liked to have seen Cavill's Superman interact with Bale's Batman. It probably won't happen but I feel like they would've made a great Supes/Bats pairing.
I might be in the minority with this thinking, but I don't find Nolan's Batman close enough to his comic book counterpart. Cavill's Superman, on the other hand, IS Superman to me: I think all those involved with the production of MOS nailed the look and feel of the main character. Even Zod's death at the hands of Superman was done in a practical way that made sense to me.
Frankly a lot of the superman comic purists have been having a bit of a fit over the cavill superman, arguably more so than i've seen over the nolan batman even.
From what i've read it's some of what you've already listed, the zod death, the different take on clark kent but also the lack of "heroic superman", him being too grim and not hopeful enough similar stuff to that.
For sure, the batman of the TDK trilogy isn't close to the Justice League style Batman of the comics and animated series, but purely on an aesthetic level (not counting mythos, comic accurateness, etc) I'm sure many would have liked to see a Bale/Cavill pairing. Especially considering the astounding success of the TDK trilogy and the huge following of it.
Well, in MOS, he hasn't really established himself yet. He's just beginning to earn the public's trust. I expect to see a lot more of what you describe in the sequel though.
He only earned the military trust . We didn't see how the public reaction. That's one of the complaints.
Yeah, sure. Bale's Batman is very much in the consciousness of the general public as well as the fans now. To that end, I almost feel bad for WB, knowing that they'll soon be tasked with the difficult burden of bringing another new Batman to the big screen. I don't think those outside (and even some within the ranks) of fandom are ready for that yet.
