WHAT YOU'VE NEVER SEEN IT?!??!?!

It's actually weird hearing bale in his natural accent, for so long he seemed to do interviews in this pseudo-new york/british accent.

Christian Bale's natural accent has changed over the years as he has spent more and more time in the United States. Even when he goes back to his natural accent, it has sounded really odd to me the past few years, like it's a a strange mix between Welsh and New York. Here is an older interview with him:

Here is an interview he did when he was still a kid:

He actually started getting really rude to the press later in his career.

Bale doesn't have a Welsh accent. His family's heritage is English; he came to be born in Wales only because his father, a commercial pilot, was temporarily stationed there. He actually grew up in England, Portugal and the US, but never spent much time in Wales at all. Quote: "I was born in Wales but I'm not Welsh – I'm English"

That's right! I remember reading that very quote a long time ago and I totally forgot about it. Okay, I'll change it to this: "His voice sounds like an odd combination of accents from England and New York." Either way, his natural accent has shifted and changed somewhat, and it continues to change. This happened with Mel Gibson as well. He lived in the U.S. for the first 12 years of his life, I believe, yet he had one of the strongest Australian accents I've ever heard in the first Mad Max film, after having lived there for several years. Over the years, he's settled back into an American accent, though he probably shifts it when he's in Australia.

Probably the most interesting accent for me is Gillian Anderson. I was an original fan of the X-Files, and I had no idea she was British until I heard an interview with her recently. Apparently, she moved to the U.S. as a teenager and learned very quickly how to emulate an American accent, but has never lost the original one.

Okay, now back to Henry.........:yay:

I brought up something similar when that video of him in the awkward interview was posted here.

I think cavill's a nice enough guy but he's still not very media savvy at this point and he doesn't quite know how to respond to the dumb/jokey questions he'll be getting constantly now being in his position now.

He doesn't seem like the jokey kind of guy really but it would be nice for him to be able to play off and throw back a bit when it comes to the silly questions. Otherwise he can appear too serious or too "above it all".

I agree, I mean I think by nature he tends to be serious...which is kind of understandable cause his Dad is from the army and so are three of his brothers. Plus he's like the classic Englishman-like really reserved and proper. Not a bad thing but can work against him esp in Hollywood.
Yeah his manager needs to make him aware that he needs to loosen up once in a while esp with the media and stuff.

I'm sure some of you have seen this, but here is an interview with Henry when he was only 20. He's expressive, goofy, and informal here, so I think his current interview style is definitely purposeful on his part.

Wow he looks so young..and yeah he's definitely more relaxed. But I think fashion style in Mos promos also contributed to the whole "stiff" aura... his dyed black hair is really slicked back and so accentuates his strong jawline more and then his suits tend to make him look really boxy.

he looks really good here. The facial hair softens his features. It's weird that his hair is so light. He's his usual wordy self though, lol. I find it funny that one of the guys remarked that Henry memorized the press material for that event cause he just gave off this long winded answer, :woot:

But anyway, I guess in the end, its this kind of reserved and earnest demeanor of Henry's that got him the Superman part.

I'm just wondering about his hairline though. I mean I didn't care for it until I read a comment saying that it was fast receding. Is it? I really cant tell..

Also did he dye his hair black again for the MoS promos? Cause I know filming was done at least two years ago.

Watching Cavill interviews. This guy really deserves to be in a truly great Superman movie (if think that movie was great, good for you). They really need to step it up for the sequel, if only to give Cavill better material.

I think this might very well be true. I ma not even kidding. I have seen nearly a 100 MOS interviews with him and he repeats these 5-7 passages verbatim. Like literally verbatim. Even the similes and pauses and gestures and beats are the same.

1. His workout routine
2. Fat Cavill
3. His encounter with Russel Crowe
4. The suit
5. Getting the call to play Superman
6. Favorite moment of making Superman
7. Favorite comics

At this point I could give Cavill's interview FOR him because as soon as I hear the first word of the question, I know exactly what Cavill's response is going to be.

Seriously dude, could you please stop talking down to the people who liked the movie? It sucks that you didn't; wish you had. But it seems as if you think that the people who did like it are idiots or have resigned themselves to enjoying crap.

And I a Lumia. We're mortal enemies now. :argh:

I was bred to be a warrior, Loca. Trained my entire life to master my senses. Where did you train? ON A FARM?

Loca was bred to be "sensually delicious" though. You can't top that.

Just saw Man of Steel last night here in Australia, and yes, Henry was amazing! The guy IS Superman. Can't wait to go for my 2nd viewing in a few hours :)
