The Hollywood blogs aren't tearing into Cavill (and believe me--they are TEARING into him) for dating around. They are tearing into him because he's a 30 year old man and his PR strategy is making him seem like a *****e.

Cavill is not 22. He's 30. Yes, he's just hitting his big break. Yes, he's newly famous. But he's a 30 year old man with a reputation for being a serial monogamist and I think people expected classier behavior.

Cavill's reputation is that he goes through women and relationships like he's doing loads of laundry.

In the last year, he "debuted" a relationship on the red carpet that was shady as all get out and now had this messy PR charade with Kaley where they called paps on themselves. Then prior to that he had a broken engagement that was shady as hell. Then he had strings of other women before that.

No one is judging the man for dating. They are judging him for being a 30 year old man (who frankly is above this kind of crap) acting like an 18 year old frat boy and then having his PR agents put it in US weekly to try and get him attention when he doesn't NEED this kind of attention.

And honestly...I've never really gotten the whole "Oh it's totally cool for guys to date around---just let him sow his wild oats" thing. It feels kind of condascending to men to me. Also..weird bc if a woman got famous and acted like that people could call her all sorts of vile names.

The truth is not all men want or need to "sow their wild oats" no matter who they are. It doesn't need to be this expected thing that guys---especially 30 year old men---are going to need to go on a parade of sleeping with as many women as they can bag the second they get successful. Do you honestly think that paints a flattering portrait of anyone? Let alone someone like Henry who has a reputation of being a really decent, humble guy? Whatever he wants to do with his private life is his business but he needs to hire new PR.

His PR team screwed up on this one. The best thing he could do is just focus on his acting and try to keep his personal life private. If he does that, I think the bloggers will give him another chance and leave him alone. Right now? Most of the blogger sites with all the traffic are calling him an *******. Which sucks to see as a fan of his. He now has a reputation for being "fame hungry" and "a fame ****e" and that's sad to see because I honestly think he's a nice guy.

Yeah, some seem to think we're saying this because we're jealous or we have some delusional idea that we're gonna date him someday LOL but it's just expressing a little concern about his image, it's not gonna do him any good to be known as the guy who agrees to date for PR stunts (which is sadly, what they're saying, I don't agree, I think he genuinely wanted to date Kayley and viceversa)

If this was just him getting to know Kayley then going out shopping to a very popular market in hollywood and hiking in front of the paparazzi with her, knowing they're gonna be there (because let's be real, they knew) and knowing all this is gonna end in every gossip magazine, wasn't the best idea IMO. Kayley dated her BBT co-star for 2 years and no one knew about it. Henry dated for 3 years and was engaged to Ellen but they were never seen in events and all that stuff. It you're really serious about a relationship you try to protect it.

I like Henry too but honestly when the dating thing came out I was a little disappointed because I didn't think he'd succumb to that whole PR thing.
It's kind of dumb for his team to make him do such things, I mean he's already famous in his own right, why not exert the same kind of effort into getting him really good projects rather than orchestrating all these "events" for him.
In any case that's all to it now and I hope this "phase" of his or whatever his team is making him do is over and done with.

Color me naïve, but I don’t buy that his relationships have been PR. The amount of attention paid to his personal life has been in direct proportion to his popularity, and I just don’t see what the big deal is. People date around. Sometimes it only lasts a couple of dates, sometimes a few months, and sometimes a few years before you figure out who's right for you (if you're lucky to find that someone). If this has all been faked for the sake of publicity, you’d think they’d have done a better job at it.
