Henry Cavill IS Superman: - Part 4

I don't really mind how they do his hair as long as it looks more natural. Both Reeve and Routh had this super-gelled, slick looking hair which never moved and it looked totally unnatural.

I really doubt they'd straighten his hair... Cavill has perfect naturally wavy Superman hair. I'm more concerned with whether or not it'll be dyed black.

It always amazed me how both Superman & Batman had black hair one of them couldn't have had brown hair just saying?

It amazed you two people have the most dominant hair color in the world?

I think what he was trying to say is that Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent are pretty much indistinguishable from each other (in the comics) due to the fact that both characters are depicted as having the same phenotypic traits, i.e., black hair and blue eyes. During his previous run on Superman, (when drawing the character) Jim Lee actually mentioned that he focused on Clark having wavier hair than Bruce, specifically because they are so similar in appearance. In my opinion, though, if you're a skilled enough artist, you can make characters look different from each other by uniquely detailing their facial features regardless of them sharing similar phenotypes.

And Jim Lee certainly isn't skilled in that regard. All his men look the same and all his women look the same.

Agreed. I still appreciate his work though.

Thank You for explaining it!

I thought brown hair was the most dominant hair color in the world but doesn't cavill have brown hair so he'll have to dye it black for MOS?

What's wrong with naturally curly hair it will look fine it gives a more realistic reason why he has a curl. Superman Has at least 1 but in most comics his hair is at least wavy. BUT... the curl goes on the opposite side of the head as Rouths version and to me was part of what was wrong with the overall look

Yep. Chris Reeve had brown hair as well; he dyed his hair black and sometimes wore wigs/hair pieces for the Superman role. Routh also has brown hair, but he didn't alter the shade in any way. It could go either way with Cavill, but I'm hoping he dyes his hair black to better embody the look of Superman.

Correct

It would be cool if they make it look wavy (not too curly and not too straight). Superman's hair is intermediate I think.

Incidentally, Routh and Kate Bosworth are FAILING in that picture you just posted. Odd thing about Routh is that the production team involved with SR made him look less like Superman than he does naturally.

The thing is Christian Bale never died his hair black for either of the batman films.

Batman is a different animal in terms of adapting the character on film. Michael Keaton, for example, looked nothing like Bruce Wayne. Neither did Val Kilmer, whose hair is even lighter than Bale's. For whatever reason, there isn't an overwhelming expectation for actors to wholly personify the look of Bruce Wayne; with Superman, it's quite different. Superman doesn't wear a mask. His face is iconic. Black hair and blue eyes for Superman is akin to pointy ears on Batman's cowl. It's essential.

Even as a kid I knew bruce wayne had black hair then Val Kilmer comes along with blonde hair and I was like this is Ken Doll Batman.

Yeah, to be honest, they're a lot more flexible with Batman (on film) -- even in regard to his costume. I'm not sure why that is. It sort of irks me. As silly as Superman's tights look on the big screen, they don't mess with it. With Batman, they give him rubber armor. It's a double standard! :csad:

Roland Deschain could use Cavill's jawbone to ward off demons.
