Henry Cavill IS Superman: - Part 5

I laugh at those times. Me and you were one of the few who believed in him!

Cavill has had a huge fanbase on here (and many other sites) ever since he was first mentioned for the role.

When it was announced last year that the primary candidates for Superman were from TV Shows, I distinctly remember everyone wanting Jon Hamm for the role :oldrazz:

Cavill had lots of posters on here that liked him, but most ( including me ) never thought he had a chance. It's still surreal.

We haven't actually seen his performance yet, but as of now, I can't imagine anyone else in the role.

it was just this weird picture someone took of leo on the inception set and people started putting him into really random photos and the meme was born lol
it's made me lol more than once.

rotfl!!!

I never wanted Hamm for Superman, I've always maintained he just looks too old for what is essentially a franchise starter. Would have made a good Jor-El, though I'm happy they ultimately went with Crowe.

See, I said it way back when, all those people who said they couldn't "see" Cavill as Superman? They just lacked vision.

I was one of those people. My attachment to Routh was strong and I couldn't see passed it. But ever since the announcement of a reboot I've had an open mind. And since Cavill was cast I started to see something I didn't see before. Now I see it 100%.

I am disappointed in Cavill current size but will hold out in hopes that he is allowed to do more training because at current it is freaking ridiculous not to mention the guy probably has chicken legs

you were saying?

I liked him a lot too, but i think having a seperate Cavill thread meant I didn't think about him much when we were all obsessed with discussing possibilities for the role.

I liked Bomer for ages, but I think that's because I tend to latch onto the underdog lol. It was the below pic that I first saw of him, and loved. Which as you can see, is actually kind of similar to Cavill.

I think Cavill overtook Bomer after I started watching White Collar, because he's just so blatantly got the wrong frame for the role. And he doesn't look like the above in 'real life'.

And then I saw this photo:

And I was like 'Yeah, that's so perfect for a new Superman'. Couldn't accept anyone else after that.

By the time he was announced, I was so in love with him for the role that I literally squealed out loud, and started giggling and crying at the same time.

P.S. If anyone calls me 'sad' for that, i'll give em a knuckle sandwich :p

I just hope when the reveal of him in the suit first hits, the reaction to him in it is as equally positive.

Even if the costume sucks. Doesn't mean cavill or the film will be bad. So I will have to live with it.

A change in approach to the costume reveal would go a looong way toward that. What I mean is, instead of having him stand there, relaxed, with his hands on hips like we got with Routh, if they made the suit reveal an action pose, something that just screamed in big neon bold letters, "THIS IS A NEW SUPERMAN," like this:

I doubt there would be much complaining, lol.

I still don't think Cavill's ever been asked if he was aware of all the fans that wanted him for Superman.

They said they want to reveal the suit before pics are leaked so I don't think they'll wait for filming some action before releasing the pic. Either way, a good suit is a good suit, whether Superman is moving or not.

Although I wouldn't complain either way, I hope the shot isn't just Cavill standing there in front of a blank studio background, but but an awesome full scene shot instead, like the Jim Lee poster.

I don't know, man. It seems like his agent/publicist would keep an eye on what people are saying, whether it be positive and/or negative. I find it hard to believe that he would be completely in the dark about what people are saying. Especially with today's world being so "connected". Today's actors definitely have an advantage over Hollywood of old, in that sense.

Another clip of Cavill being interviewed.
He gives a small list of comics which he liked, and he renames the ones he did from another interview, most notably The New Krypton Saga.
He must have really liked them.

It doesn't necessarily mean the film will be anything like the comics he named, or that his Clark/Supes is written in a similar fashion, but at least we have a better idea of the type of story which he finds most interesting, and the type of Superman.

I can't believe he cited Superman Returns. :(
