I shall not drop names. :p

*Sam*cough*Worthington*cough*

Cavill's voice sounds really different in that trailer - couldn't tell it was him. I have no doubt he'll have a great voice for Supes/CK!

Why would he have a British accent as Superman

The Kryptonians speak with a Shakespearian-esque British accent in many interpretations.

Since Cavill's Superman wears that Kryptonian-built suit and represents Krypton, he could adapt the same speaking style as Superman.

It would allow HC to use his lower speaking range as Supes in his natural accent.

His American accent seems a good fit for Clark, the young reporter from Kansas.

It could help seperate the two identities.

I dont know why this guy keeps getting roles. He can't act !! :oldrazz:

Because, like with Shia Labeouf, when someone like James Cameron or Steven Spielberg is in love with an actor, they are guaranteed roles regardless of talent or suitability.

But why would Clark when he's been brought up in America. I have a mate whose from Scotland but raised in England and he doesn't have a Scottish accent.

While you are right about the Queen's English that is often adopted for Kryptonian characters, Superman's American accent is important for that reason. It signals that he is an outsider among them, that he was raised by humans and shares many of their values and principles.

Moreover, I don't think it would go over well for a character whose slogan was "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" to adopt a British accent.

Haven't seen it is it any good?

Yeah, I'm interested in hearing it too. Sadly, there are no youtube clips of him from the film that haven't been turned into music videos.

I thought his American accent was damn good.

Way better than some other British/Aussie actors out there.

Even Michael Fassbender and Gary Oldman, who are both fantastic actors with good command of accents, have had issues in the past. For instance, Fassbender's accent is inconsistent during the climax of First Class and Oldman's accent breaks when he shouts at Dent in TDK.

However, I generally think that British/Aussie/Irish actors do a better job of putting on American accents than vice versa.

Jason Issacs is the most underrated British actor at accents. I've heard him do various American accents including very particular regional ones and his nailed them.
