Yes, I even thought about slitting my wrists. You've got me.
Keep crying. "bbububu not funnay!!!" Just to make yourself feel better, huh?

LOL.
Anyone else read (god help me) Creamy Iraq's idea? It's good... Harleen Quinzel showing up in Arkham, is that rumored? I mean I missed the set report about Dent being in bandages... even though I still haven't found the report. People say its real...
I just can't shake the feeling that Joker will not die, Nolan didn't kill off the scarecrow, or even Raz Al Ghoul, meaning you never saw his body after death... and yeah it was blown up but that's about as good a comic book "death" as you get... people who die like that come back... usually.
Anyway, I'm sidetracked, I don't think the Joker will die and I like (hrmm) Creamy Iraq's... You know what, I'm not saying that name anymore... I spent 10 damn months in that country and it was not Creamy! Argh. I LIKE CI's idea... but it should come at the end of the credits... or maybe in the middle of them.
Oy.

Here's how I think it should end - with a slight twist. I'll put spoilers around it just in case someone hasn't read NoirMan's set reports.
Dent is scarred, becomes Two-Face, and shoots the cop in the bar - this was described by NoirMan and others.
I think what should happen is this: Batman, much as he did in the comics and in TAS, feels guilt over Dent becoming scarred/attacked. He couldn't protect him (or was prevented somehow), and thus he feels he "failed" him. Add to that these implications: corrupt or not, the police force will want to tear Dent apart for killing one of their own - he's not going to be taken in "alive," and someone will make sure a bullet is put in his head during the arrest (if it happens.) Then, we get the further complication that Dent (who has been described as Gotham's "JFK") being horribly scarred and committing a horrible murder will tear the city itself apart AGAIN.
Batman, being the "knight," knows what he has to do to protect the city and possibly help Dent rehabilitate: get to Dent first before the cops, the mob, or anyone else does and learn the truth. He wants to save Harvey while still keeping the peace, if possible. So he makes a deal with Gordon: he'll take the blame for the cop-killing, as long as he can bring Dent in HIS way - peaceably, and with an aim of getting him help (rather than just beating him to a pulp, as the cops would do.)
Hence, we have Batman taking the rap for Dent's crime, and a new challenge put in front of him: find and save Dent before his "Two-Face" alter-ego utterly consumes him. It will destroy Batman's reputation and make him a hunted target, but it gives him a chance to save Harvey. He puts his entire legacy and life on the line.
I think that's a good "twist," plus a nice cliffhanger-type ending. Not only that, but it sort of explains the side that was speculated to be between Gordon and his son, asking why the cops have to chase Batman (presumably.)
As for Joker, he should end up in Arkham, with his future trial looming as potentially becoming a circus-like media frenzy that will consume the city as well (which would be a great opening for the third film.)
