The Dark Knight Rises Is a title without "Batman" a must now?

I was wondering... Since The Dark Knight was the first Batman movie without the word "Batman" in it, do you think it's a must now that Batman 3 must follow the same trend? Is the title "Batman 3" basically out of the realm of possibility? I mean, why? There has never been a film called Batman 3.....

I think we will get another "no Batman in the title" title.

Its not a must but I think its the direction that Nolan will continue with.

I still like my ideas from 2005...

What does Dark Victory even mean? I own and have read the book but I never really thought it as compelling a title as The Dark Knight.

What is this? "title for the third movie" part 2?

There has never been a film called Batman 3.....

Or Batman 2. Or Batman 4. For some reason they just won't put a number after a title when it comes to Batman movies.

I think The Dark Knight Returns would be a logical title for the third movie. Plus it sounds and looks awesome. Although there are already movies called Batman Returns and The Dark Knight so a combination of those two might not be such an original idea.

Words like "redemption" or "vengeance" etc. are just too glossy and cheesy.

I think whatever the title it would have to fit with the movie

Batman Begins was the beginning of Batman (and another way of saying Year One)

Dark Knight, Dent says the Night is Darkest before the dawn. Meaning that things are going to get worse before they get better. And the Joker has made things worse.

Whatever the third film is about, and if its the last one then maybe in the end there should be some hope (with Bruce possibly going deeper into the darkness and coming out into hope and prosperity to let the audience know things will be at least somewhat OK)
Then the title should somewhat convey that.
I was thinking something similar. There is no need of the word Batman in the title, but in the same time it has to refer to him and the plot because it is his story. And no Return or other cheesy titles, and no Gotham either. Most sequels that went global in the sequel in lack of a better idea, think Indiana Jones, Terminator, Die Hard, have bombed.

The Batman Forever

LoL :P kidding

I'd leave "Batman" out, but have a title that Bat-Fans can recognize

Shadow of the Bat is really growing on me....but I agree it has to fit with the story, so I trust Nolan will chose a fitting title.

for instance The dark knight was perfect, it served as a sort of juxtaposition between Batman and Harvery 'The white knight' Dent.

They can use Batman in the title however Id like it if they didn't, its just cool to see a superhero movie that doesn't actually put its main charecters name in the title...most films don't do this, why does a superhero film have to?
