The Amazing Spider-Man Is Webb going to simply ignore the Spider-sense?

I asked about this in the general discussion thread, and I don't mean to be the type of poster who shamelessly begs for attention, but did anyone notice the spider symbol that flashes on his skateboard when his spider sense goes off the first time in the subway? I haven't seen it mentioned yet, so I'm curious.

I don't remember seeing that. I'll have to check out that scene when I get the Blu-ray on the 9th.

Here's a screenshot from the scene. It's at 22:07.

I noticed that as soon as I saw the scene first time, good eyes i guess ahaha.

Spider-mans precognition only gives him so much. As a recent Spider-man issue demonstrated, if it got very sensitive he would be untouchable. But normally he may be aware of the dangers but it's still his choice to respond. Of course when you factor in someone like the Lizard. Peter is only so fast and aware of the method of attack. The Lizard is pretty damn fast. There isn't just simply one director of attack.

Also it's very active when he webslings. It's what allows him to hit a building and not air most of the time.

The power is tricky because even the comic writers have some issue with how sensitive it is. But it's not an ability The weakness of the ability is that it depends on the man to use it. Peter when he's thinking can ignore it. Fear can override it. But when he just lets it do it's thing, he's much more mister untouchable.

I've always considered it less as "precognition" and more as this sort of sensitivity to danger, mostly physical, and so it's more like "Spider-Instincts" than "Spider-Sense" for me. Arguably the best power he's gotten.

I loved how it was portrayed in the film. His body basically reacts to stuff about to happen to him which helps explain why he's athletic and nimble

I still wish it was a visual cue rather than a sound effect.

Well if it's too much "body acts on its own" then it wouldn't be all that different from the symbiote would it?

I think making the screen go Black and white,Slow down time along with the sound would have been perfect for showing the Spider-sense(People who play Max Payne would get the idea)
It would have perfect with the Darkish theme they were trying to go for and the Peter's perspective with time slowing would have been equivalent to POV sequences

They could have shown something like that 2-3 times and the audience would get the concept and understand when he dodges bullets and punches later

Dodges electricity* :cwink:

Those first-person POV shots while he was running around was just annoying. Just because it worked for "Sonar-Vision"....

I've always thought it would be interesting to explain his confusion about the Spider-Sense in that NY can be dangerous at all times and sometimes he can't tell the difference.

Its not really like that,he doesnt sense potential dangers, just immediate dangers

Like oncoming bullets or blows

Or his powers go off with anything surrounding him, and with that case, the idea from TheWatcher could make some sense with this version of Spidey.

But yet he did sense Lizard miles away, thus he could sense any and all danger surrounding him.

It doesn't make sense, but hey, it doesn't make sense for Peter to be able to cling on surfaces while wearing shoes either, but this is the way Webb had taken his version of Spider-Man.

he sensed the little Lizards i guess because when he LIZARD is behind him the spidey sense goes is activated again and louder

I think we're talking about when Lizard ****s up the bridge and Peter senses this after his talk with Gwen.

Wasn't that scene in his bedroom where everything is incredibly intense a glimpse at his spider-sense?

The shoes aspect one can ignore because it is difficult to show a naked feet spidey and not raise eyebrows

But Webb totally messed up the Spidey sense. He could not understand it at all
He senses him from half a mile but couldnt sense him when he just 2 metres above him in the sewers?Doesnt make sense
