I have owned that poster for nearly 30 years. I recently brought it out to put in my son's room. It's one of my favs.

Hope you dont mind a lil update for the Movie...
PS I can remove it if you want :)

never been a fan of the space suit

Me neither, but surely... he would just wear a 'human' space suit... maybe a less padded version - kinda like a scuba diver? Just a tank on his back, with a mouth piece?

To communicate, he'd use hand signals or a head piece like a gas mask? That i can see, being more real world than a space suit in the fortress

I reckon they just mean he did research, pumped up his body between takes, stayed in character for as much as he could.. i reckon it was a vague word to use to cover a broad spectrum - if she had said that about routh, then i would have taken it (with hindsight ofcourse) that he took extra lessons, numerous takes etc to nail it..

Paintings tend to make the Classic suit look awesome. Even the 30's suit:

Paintings make everything look awesome. Thats why I think a CG animated Superman movie in a style more similar to TinTin then The Incredibles would be sick. You can literally take that superman vs tank poster and turn it into an animation. Come to think of it, that could be an awesome side project, hm...

Meee too I would love to see a dated cg version and I also like the classic look as well.

By dated you mean "period piece" right?

Seriously, for my next project I'll turn the poster into a cg sequence :) try to prove the classic suit is still legit

And btw, another armor/space suit:

You would take that weird albino thing over the blue streamlined space suit? People on here are confusing sometimes.

Yeah, because it's an interesting sci-fi design and not an astronaut suit slightly altered to look superheroic and with an S-shield thrown in.

I don't like the All Star design either, but a Kryptonian space suit is not a bad idea. Doubtful Superman would be in space in MOS, but I don't agree there needs to be just one suit. Plus, considering the redesign of this suit and the fact it looks more "alien" I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume Supes has more then one type of Kryptonian suit.

Ah, the 'Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite' armor. Thanks for that, brings back memories.

You know, do you need live action for there to be a cinematic universe?

Superman certainly needs some sort of space suit if he's going to be in space for a long period of time. The only other problem I have with Superman being in space is that he's actually supposed to become weaker since the yellow sunlight is supposed to give him power. It's only within earth's atmosphere that the sun appears yellow. It would be cool if Superman had something similar to slimmer version of the suits from Halo, but with some sort of breathing apparatus.

Here's a good example, though it should have a better design.

No, the DCAU is a perfect example of a non-cinematic, or live action, universe.

You have BNAS, STAS, BB, JL and JLU all occupying the same universe. In fact, the series finale of JL was supposed to be an ode to the beginning of BB. I will still never forgive Timm for messing with Batman's gonads and making Terry his son.

*shakes fist at Timm* Never forget....

Could animated films released in movie theaters form a successful animated franchise of films set in the same universe? It's just another opinion question, that's all. So, any costume news?

If done right, sure. I was just saying that in terms of a quality, bad-ass, Superman viewing experience- classic suit and all- franchise notwithstanding, a stylized yet realistic cg animated movie would probably work well. There is something to be said though about real actors teaming up. Both could be great.

Oh okay...now I understand.

I would say yes. Shrek seems to be a good exampe of a non-live action universe that is pretty successful. Add that with Puss N Boots.
