I am hoping for some changes. I'd like to actually see different sort of suits, like in the animated series. I'd like a space suit with an \S/....

Silly....not so much, IMO. I do not want to see Superman breathing in space.

Possibly. You mean like the addition of trunks? There may be legal restrictions on what they can change because of the lawsuit.

lol.....I'm okay with the trunks being gone....but what if they did bring them back????? How would they explain that?

I kinda wanna see how the suit looks on the big screen first before thinking off any changes. I have to say the more I've seen of suit & the film, the more I personally like the change.

I feel a change was kinda needed if they were gonna try to make the film a little more believable.. or as believable as a film with a flying being from outer space can be.

That is a very good question lol they won't. I think it might be delving into cheesy territory to start giving Superman a super-wardrobe with his logo on everything. Don't think Superman would be the type to care so much about branding

Please no.

I just don't want him to breathe in space....

That always bothers me.

I don't want him to be breathing in space either, however I liked L&C:TNAS kinda excuse for him not needing breathing equipment in space is because he could hold his breath for approximately 25 minutes.

Yeah, that is true. I forgot that, but then I always figured holding his breath while fighting didn't make sense.

I'm curious though.... NO one wants to see any additional suits like in STAS? Does Superman have to wear only one suit in a feature film or is possible to incorporate differing suits for differing reasons?

One suit. Any others should have pretty legit story driven reasons

Well, haven't there been various interpretations where Superman can hold his breath from days to months [depending on the writer]?

I'd imagine that Snyder and The Nolans will likely give him limitations but I doubt they'll explore how long he'll be able to hold his breath.

A space suit for Superman though would appear ridiculous.

Classy

Superman wearing a Space Suit makes sense if he wants to talk and communicate with Earth or other people in Space wearing Space suits, after all, even with his Super-powers he cannot talk in the vacuum of space, Air is needed to carry sound waves to microphone inside the space suit which can then convert the sound into electrical signals and then transmit it as radio waves to Earth Station / other astronauts.

They should have depicted him in his fleisher era costume seeing as the 1940's setting there.

If a gun was to my head and I absolutely HAD to choose which space suit Superman is to wear, the All Star Superman space suit would be my choice. Although I honestly haven't really thought about it in a live action Superman movie. Sorry for the crappy picture. I didn't really look that hard, but you get the idea.

Looks 100 times better than the TAS space costumes.

You would take that weird albino thing over the blue streamlined space suit? People on here are confusing sometimes.

I’m critical of several elements in the Superman canon. (Just because something is “traditional” doesn’t mean it’s good. :cwink:) But I’m “old school” as far as Supes not needing a suit/helmet to survive in space. Supes’ powers are/should be “all natural.” Unlike other heroes, he doesn’t rely on external tools or weapons (utility belts, web shooters or magic lassos) to augment his abilities.

Though I don’t necessarily agree, I can appreciate arguments for “depowering” Supes to make him more “interesting.” So maybe that means confining him to Earth and making space out of bounds. If that’s the case, however, then stick with that restriction. But if the stories call for semi-regular forays into space, then the “space suit” becomes an easy workaround to a pointlessly imposed obstacle. So why not just go with classic invulnerability? It amounts to the “same difference” and skips the incongruous hardware.

THANK YOU.

i dont understand why people don't get this. NO ONE talks in space.

If SUPERMAN is impervious to the cold vacuum of space, then just give him a helmet/facemask if he needs to communicate. NO SPACE SUIT!
