I'd love Fassbender as Bond, but I think he might be too old by the time Craig is done. I have a feeling they'll be wanting to stick with a younger Bond.

I'm going to see this again tomorrow. I hope it's just as good or even better on a second viewing.

It is. Going for a third. :007

He is what, 22-23? I definitely can see him growing more rugged over the next decade.

Maybe. As of now, I can't see it. He's too prettyboyish. Not a bad actor, mind you- I do like him. I just don't see him as 007. Then again, people say the same thing about Brosnan, and I disagree, so I'm not against it either. :oldrazz:

I saw it three times. Once at a media screening, again at AFI Fest, and then I paid for it on IMAX. IMAX looked really good considering it was the real IMAX screen.

My only concern with Craig being in more than 2 is that he'll probably start looking way old by then.

Think of how Roger Moore looked in A View to a Kill.

Eh, it's ok. Guy was born looking 60.

Daniel is aging gracfully. Hes not immortal like Depp or kept a boyish charm that Downey and Pitt has.

Think about this: Daniel is aging like Charles Bronson. The older he gets the tougher he looks. It adds to his look.

That's true but it's gonna make the love interest stuff seem kinda off if they keep going for the traditional twenty-something bond girls.

Brosnan looked a little suspect in his last couple films and don't get started on moore who was actually older than the parents of one of his on-screen love interests haha. They can avoid that if they keep the bond girls somewhat age appropriate for craig.

I think they can afford to give this Bond somewhat older love interests. He doesn't look Moore-weird. And I don't think he will. It's that kind of charisma he has, I guess.

And I must say that I didn't find Bros weird with any Bond girl other than Denise.

After watching QoS in quick succession to CR the movie made a lot more sense to me than it did when I watched it in the cinema when it was released but I still don't like the movie.

The action is even less intelligible than Transformers or Nolan's Batman and I was rewinding several scenes because I couldn't see what the **** was going on.
I was completely bored and the shadow organisation wasn't gripping me at all like it was when I was watching Connery's movies probably because I saw the leader (even if it was just a hand stroking a cat) rather than just a bunch of lackeys I didn't give a **** about.

I did like the performances of Bond, M and Felix but they weren't enough to save this movie and the opening title sequence and song were easily (EASILY!) the worst of the entire Bond series, so congratulations Madonna you are off the hook.

Terrible movie made worse by the fact that Casino Royale absolutely blow me away. This is a worse drop in quality than X2 to X3 or SM2 to SM3.
Fortunately SF takes everything QoS gets wrong and puts it right and delivers a movie that (imho) is better than CR.

I'd love if they revive the Quantum story.

But someone needs to ask the brass if Quantum is still around or if they defeated them between movies.

Also we need Felix and Jeffrey Wright back so then we will have classic M, Q, Moneypenny, and Felix all in the new era of Bond movies.

I do hope Quantum comes back. Hell, If they just want him to finish them off in Bond 24, so be it. Just close the storyline, and don't ignore it.

I can't see them bringing references to quantum back just due to it's association with quantum of solace.

Critics have been merciless when talking about that film lately. I mean worst bond film lists, critics telling you to forget it ever existed etc. I think that's a lot of bs personally it is a decent film when viewed as a CR companion piece.

That always happens. You should have seen the Spidey boards after Amazing. When you have something that wasn't as good as what came before, no matter wether it really sucked, wasn't as bad as it is made out to be, or was actually quite good- just not as much as before- the piss will be taken out of it.

Also, Quantum has been set-up since Casino.

I hope Craig does at least two more Bond films. After that, I think it will be time to pass the torch. Who would you guys like to see as the next James Bond? Here are some actors that I think could handle the role...

1. Michael Fassbender
2. Philip Winchester
3. Henry Cavill
4. Richard Madden
5. Charlie Hunnam
Ha, the outcry over an American being cast as Bond would be delicious.

I approve of your list, minus Hunnam. Assuming he wouldn't take over for another 5-10 years, Madden could be very good, but he's definitely gotta shed some of that boyishness first. Another couple of "youngsters" who I think have that same potential given a few years are Tom Weston-Jones and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. Both are 25-years-old, but to me, they seem older. By the time they're in their early 30's, I think they could make for decent Bond candidates.

Yeah I had no problem with any of Bros Bond girl in terms of age.

Miranda frost from DAD was a little weird for me. I think he actually was old enough techincally to have been her dad at the time too (gives the acronym DAD a whole new meaning).

The actress who played her was in her early twenties then i believe and i didn't buy her as being anywhere near a contemporary of brosnans both romance or proffesion.

Brosnan has 25 years on the perfect Rosamund Pike.

It didnt take me out of it like it did with Moore and Stacey, and I don't think Craig in his early 50s will concern me with whoever they pair up with either.

I think all of this talk about craig playing bond into his 50's is probably moot anyways. He's had a few quotes recently where he talks about wanting to get out of bond while the going's good.

This is a recent quote of his:

"Well, he is," says Craig, smiling. So it begs the question: How old is too old?

"I'm contracted for another two Bond films and that seems a fair number, but I'm not going to make predictions, because people need to go and see the movie and until they do we can't make another one."

Two more might be enough for Craig, though. He says: "I'm not going to outstay my welcome. Someone else can have a crack at this."

I see him doing the next two and moving on and that should put him just shy of 50.

As for who should be the next Bond - I wouldn't want a big name tbh (osrry Fassbender fans) I'd like someone less known like Barry Sloane (Hollyoaks, Revenge) although he might even be consdered too old by then

he's also said in interviews that he wants to match the record and that he would like to stay til people get sick of him

my guess is most of the quotes for both sides of the coin have probably been taken out of context to make a story/headline

Well people are aging well these days. Tom Cruise is 50 and he looks/acts younger than his actual age and we don't think twice about it. It's as long as it believable.

I guess i just think 5 is a nice round number to end with. I don't think there should be anything special about tying or breaking moore's run seeing as moore over stayed his time as bond.

It becomes really hard to string together consecutive good movies as well when you get past a certain number. I have heard conflicting reports about how long craig wants to stay but part of me feels if he goes beyond this current contract for the next two it may only be because he couldn't say no to the huge amount of cash their offering him.
