James Bond In Skyfall - Part 3

For Your Eyes Only in my James Marathond. I gotta be honest, I think is the one from Roger Moore I enjoyed the most so far. I really have no major complaints about the movie, the stunts were great, the score from Bill Conti too, beaufitul locations. I couldn't ask for more to deliver after the very regular Moonraker.

Octopussy sometime this weekend.

I would get rid of all of Bibi's advances on Bond though.

It was weird.

She was very annoying, and I'm glad Bond kept turning her down because Bond seduces women, not girls.

And Roger Moore would've looked even worse seducing her, since he must've been in his 50s in FYEO. Worse though is 60 year old Rog with Tanya Roberts, who really looks like a dirty old man by then.

Q is confirmed and cast!
Ben Whishaw is the quartermaster last seen 10 years ago.

Very exciting with a young Q. I just hope they go with a serious characterization and not a comic relief... or better put, not AS much of a comic relief Cleese was but more in line with Llewellyns first appearance.

So I was watching Die Another Day last night, and I gotta say, the first act of the film is a solid Bond film. The beginning up until Cuba when Halle Berry comes in (who is hotter than the sun in this movie). It becomes pretty gaudy. The ice fortress was a bit much, and I didn't catch on that Graves was Zau.

I did like the sword fight though. It had some cool things going for it. The plot with Bond going after the man that set him up in Korea is a fine plot idea. It just got cartoony.

Why did they hire somebody better looking and younger than DG for Q? (I don't fine DG attractive, his body is nice to look at but thats it for me). Strange as ****.

^ BBC has a good quote about that which basically says that "back in the day" it made sense to trust an old hardened scientist with technologic inventions, but today it is the younger generation that deals with - and are the masters of - that same field.

Man so happy q will be here this tine. Interesting he will be much younger.

Good and interesting point.

There was a lot of bad writing involved in that film, especially as things got moved around during production. At first Halle Berry was meant to be a villainess. I think that once she won her oscar, she was bumped up to heroic bond girl. Rosamund Pike, who was originally just an MI6 agent was turned into a villain.

Since she is the one who betrayed Bond in N Korea, they should've had her with him there. However, because she would've stood out like a sore thumb, she would've been automatically known. They should've therefore had several agents who would've equally stood out and been suspects (to the audience of course) and that way we wouldn't be able to quite tell who was the traitor. The fact that she was the new MI6 agent meant that of course she was going to be the traitor, because it wasn't going to be Q or Moneypenny, or even Colin Salmon (unless they had set his character up to eventually betray Bond).

Simply telling us at the end of the film that Pike was there in N Korea when it wasn't shown almost seems like a retcon (as she was turned into a villain) because they hadn't managed to insert her into the scenes, and therefore was sloppy writing.

As for Ben Whishaw as Q, I'm guessing he's going to be one of these techie types like in these various CSI shows or NCIS. I wonder if they're going to ditch the line "pay attention 007"?

Nice! Having Q back mostly likely means we'll be seeing all those fancy gadgets again!

And, is it just me, or does Ben Whishaw look a little like a young Desmond Llewelyn? He's got the same eyes, same nose and even has that double chin.

Die Another Day worked well till they got to Ice Palace.I hadn't heard Jinx was originally a Villain till halle Berry won the oscar. But considering the had to change name of Rosamund Pike's character from Gale Brand the name of woman from the Moonraker novel Into Miranda Frost that doesn't suprise me.While some complain about Invisible car I think Idea a Asian man could be turned Into White Man IS thing that really pushes things too far.

I am really hoping If Q Is In Skyfall Moneypenny Is as well.I am also hoping Q will be Major Boothryd of the rebooted contunity. For me the character of Major Boothryd IS Q.And hopefully this Is sign they are moving this second bond series now closer to first series.

31 is fairly young for someone to have risen to the rank of major, left the army, and then forged a career as a designer of concealed munitions etc.

I am a bit worried that this Q might just be another IT whizz-geek trope.

That's a very interesting approach on the character. It makes sense.

Exactly, it was a way of saying "hey, Bond doesn't do ALL women".

I agree with you.Bond Is suspose to have been In the navy before being recruited into MI6 with rank of COmmander when he left navy yet so far we have had no Indected that Bond In second series has that background.

I'm just glad to see Q back. My thing is...Q is the head of Q branch, isn't he? It's hard to believe he'd have risen that far at that age...but then maybe he's a genius.

And a Q who "secretly" gives Bond stuff Q branch is working on...that could be cool.

I could see Craig's Bond not taking things seriously from a "kid"

I'm glad Q is back for Craig's Bond I always wanted Q in his films. I wonder if Moneypenny is cast?
